TNA, What now?

Well Scott, seeing as how TNA is more or less the walking dead at this moment, my question is what do you think happens to most of the talent now?  Who could break out in any way?  I believe that James Storm, Austin Aries, and Bobby Roode are safe and will make a fortune in the indies and Japan, Kurt and Ken Kennedy are persona-non-grata in WWE for more reasons than I can think of, Matt and Jeff Hardy may squeak in somehow if they change their act, EC3 and Bram could be brought back to NXT because they're both young and have matured in the ring, but I doubt that Eric Young, Jesse Goderz, Homicide, or Abyss will get any attention from the WWE.  Who looks more promising to you in making it in this business?

I think they'd probably bring EC3 back unless he's completely burned all his bridges.  Bram got nailed on a DUI so I doubt they'll bother with him.  I can see the Hardyz coming back for a Royal Rumble appearance or two or RAW Retro deal where we get to hear about how great the Attitude Era was yet again.  I think Aries could probably make a fortune in Japan, as you noted.  He's pretty much perfect for the Bullet Club and he's exactly the kind of guy they love.  The rest are gonna have to be Indy 4 Life, I'm pretty sure, unless they get deals with whatever GFW ends up being.

Could Doink Gimmick Work Now?

Hey Scott,

Long time fan, first time writer.

I always thought that Doink the Clown was great as a heel when he first came into WWF, Matt Borne played it so well and I thought it was a huge missed opportunity when he turned face.
My question is:
Could a heel Doink like gimmick work nowadays??

Jack.

Isn't that basically what Dean Ambrose was doing for a long time?  So yeah, it could definitely work.

HHH – The greatest of all time now?

So can we finally say that HHH is actually the greatest of all time simply because he brought peace to the middle east AKA he got Bruno in the Hall of Fame?  Sure Bret probably won't agree with that statement but how many other guys in the business have gotten themselves into this position of power?   He's only a step or two away from really running the company and if he can get Bruno back on board then what else can he do if given full control?  Say what we want about Flair, Hogan, Shawn, Bret and others but it seems like no one else had the foresight to think about the WWE post Vince except HHH.  For that I say bring on the HHH regime.  Let's see if he can really keep the ship sailing after the old captain is thrown overboard.

Yeah, well, Sin Cara and the failed tag division revamp are both squarely on his head, so let's not go awarding any Booker of the Year honors just yet.

Tommy Dreamer’s “Where are they now?” – Celebrating 15 year anniversary of Barely Legal

I thought this was a good read – and didn't know at all what had happened to Perry Saturn.

I had heard about it at the time but I'm glad he's got his life back in order again.  And agreed, a really interesting read.  Tommy was always a good guy and never seemed to get caught up in any of the other activities that brought down most guys.
