How the DX “Tank” Changed EVERYTHING

Three things that strike me about the "Monday Night War" DVD package art:
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/91X5hOXlXbL._SL1500_.jpg

1) The DX "tank" is on the cover. Because as we all know, that was the turning point of the Monday Night ratings war. (Note: The DX "tank" is a jeep, not a tank. Rusev knows what a tank is).

2) Chyna has been airbushed out of the "tank" photo.

3) There is absolutely no representation of WCW on this cover art and an old WCW fan would have no idea it has anything to do with WCW. In fact, it features NONE of WWF or WCW’s biggest stars on the cover — no Austin, no Rock, no nWo, no Sting, no Goldberg. Granted, the Rock is on the cover art for Volume 2, but still.

My takeaway: WWE would rather put out a DVD set about the 1995-2001 era of pro wrestling with Vince McMahon’s eyes and Triple H on the cover instead of much bigger stars (Rock, Austin, nWo) and zero mention of WCW even though putting the actual big stars on the cover would likely sell a lot more units.

Wait, wait, the DX tank was a JEEP?! WHY HAS NO ONE COMMENTED ON THIS FACT IN IRONIC FASHION BEFORE NOW?!?

EVERYTHING IS FINE

My compatriot Brian Fritz posted yet another expose of TNA's inability to pay their people over on the Sporting News.  Clearly he's just spreading lies made up by the haters who are trying to skew things with their "facts" and "verifiable information".  But still, probably not a good sign.  Even if he's lying.  Which he clearly must be.

EVERYTHING IS FINE

Scott,

Just received an e-mail from TNA that their Video OnDemand will stop service on August 2nd.  I’m thinking its shutting down because of their new YouTube subscription, but maybe its something more.  In the e-mail it says that refunds will be given by Friday to subscribers.  Let’s see if that actually happens or we get delayed in payment just like the wrestlers.

Take care!
This is all stuff that every perfectly healthy wrestling company does in the span of a few weeks to drastically slash costs.

WON Awards 2012 (aka NJPW Wins Everything)

I'm not gonna just c&p from the new Observer because if I was Dave I'd hate for people to do that, so I'll throw some hits CRZ's way instead.
Clearly, Tanahashi had a hell of a year and actually got me to watch TWO New Japan PPVs on the strength of his matches, so that's an MVP in my books.  Congrats to Bad Influence on a well deserved Tag Team award, and I'm a little weirded out by TNA winning worst promotion but Impact winning Best Show.
So yeah, no major quibbles here.

WCW Ruins Everything

I somehow feel like I’m partially responsible for the Mark the Smart Fan puppet at the end, although WWE continues to be the only business that openly bashes its most ardent supporters.  Really, it would be nice if this show focused on something OTHER than WCW’s worst moments, when there’s SOOOOOOOO much more that they could “celebrate” from RAW’s 1000 episodes, but it is what it is.
