Hey there campers!

So I got my second shot of Pfizer yesterday (Pfizer Uppercut!) and despite now having 5G inside me I still couldn’t get a signal in Goodison Park. The Toffees won the game at least. There was little in the way of social distancing going on in the concourse but I had a mask with me and I’ve tested negative this morning, so it looks like I managed to avoid purchasing a ticket to the Backstreet Boys Reunion Tour for now. Hopefully my Pfizer will have fully kicked in by the time we play Burnley at home in September, if crowds are still allowed by that stage.

Spent most of the evening binging series 2 of Daria as I recently bought an NTSC boxset of the complete collection. Sadly pretty much all of the music has been dubbed out, although that does mean you get the occasional unexpected bit of WWF/E stock music such as “You Look Fly Today” and whatever the name of The Holly Cousins’ music was. It’s a great show and well worth watching if you’ve never seen it.

Friday The 13th, Unlucky for some

Hibs are sadly out of European competition but the other Scottish teams are all still alive in one form or another, so good look to them in the next qualifying rounds! The New Saints from Wales sadly crashed out on penalties as well. Their previous name was actually Turner Network Solutions, but then they changed it. And thus ends any of the facts I know about them, so apologies to any TNS fans that are reading this

Come along children, spit spot!

Shout out to blog poster Bobby who recently bought a ticket to The Backstreet Boys Reunion Tour. I hope you aren’t on tour with them for too long Bobby and make a swift recovery. Might I suggest watching In Your House: Canadian Stampede? It’s always a good “I’m sick so I’ll cheer myself up with some wrestling” show from my experience.

Hey hey hey!

Welcome to the new Era of NXT tonight! It’ll be interesting to see how different it is from the usual NXT, or whether the new changes will come in gradually. I’m sure generic looking tall guys under 30 the world over are waiting excitedly by their phones in anticipation of a phone call from Johnny Ace!

Happy Saturday lads and lasses

Everton are playing Man United in a pre-season friendly today. Apparently some naughty Evertonians tried buying tickets in the Man United end because the game is happening at Old Traffic and United have sussed it and cancelled the tickets. I don’t think there was likely to be any issues or anything like that, but it’s probably best to err on the side of caution just in case. I’m personally not going to watch the game today, but I’ve got my season ticket and will be at Goodison for the season opener against Southampton, where we’ll probably lose. I’m sure Rafa Benitez will enjoy a friendly Everton welcoming committee for his home debut though…

Howdy everyone!

Played Jaws on the Nintendo Entertainment System last night. Oh dear, that one is an absolute load of mince let me tell you. The core gameplay loop is just boring and the game itself gets super cheap the further in you get. Heaven help you if you happen to have to fight Jaws in shallow water with a shedload of jellyfish coming at you for good measure.

RIP to Beautiful Bobby Eaton

I decided to go with WCW Mayhem as the feature image today because Eaton did a lot of motion capture on the game and ended up getting added as a playable character as a result. So if you’ve ever enjoyed playing WCW Mayhem then you can do so again secure in the knowledge that Beautiful Bobby played his part in making it happen

S’up Dudes and Dudettes!

I’ve decided that I’m terrible at GTA III in any mission that requires combat. It’s amazing how just adding the ability to hide behind cover makes the latter games in the series feel less like frantic “run around and pray you don’t die” scenarios whenever you need to shoot someone.

I still have zero idea what’s happening with AEW’s new Rampage show over here in the UK. I keep expecting it to show up on FITE as part of the AEW Plus membership, but I should probably double check that seeing as the 20th August episode is probably going to rather important.

Happy end of the month one and all!

Didn’t stay up to watch Smackdown last night as I had to get an early night. I saw bits of the contract signing on YouTube this morning and it’s good to know that in the magical world of WWE contracts you can get anything you want so long as you intercept the person who is about to sign the contract and sign it before they do. If only it were the same in the footballing world, as I could have Polish Hammered Fabian Delph before the useless waster signed his Everton deal and gotten a good player to sign on the dotted line instead.

Howdy-Ho Neighbourinos!

So it turns out I’ve had a Disney+ sub for a while as I forgot to cancel a free membership, meaning I decided to spend all of last night working my way through Loki and I really liked it. Not going to spoil anything, but I found it the funny bits were funny and the dramatic bits were suitably dramatic, so it’s a thumbs up from me. The scene with Casey in Episode 1 primed me well for the comedy going forward and I thought the performances from all of the actors involved across the series were great.

Been revisiting GTA III this week, and I have to say that from a graphical perspective it doesn’t hold up too bad. Yeah the character models look a little blocky, but Liberty City still feels like a living breathing City and the weather effects were way better than I remembered. For an earlyish PS2 game it looks pretty good. I’m rubbish at the combat sadly, so the weapon cheat might be in order so I can just snipe and rocket launch from afar like the absolute scum I am.

Hey up chucks!

After about 7-8 days of sun and warm weather we’ve finally moved into the traditional British summer of rain and misery. Farewell sunshine, it was nice to know you.

I didn’t watch Raw, but from reading Thomas’ recap it sounds like they had Charlotte absolutely decimate poor Nikki Storm so she could get her heat back for losing the belt last week. I’ve never really been as anti-Charlotte as everyone else, but that’s a big load of “no thank you” from me I’m afraid. It reeks of Hogan dropping the belt to Goldberg and then the next Nitro being all about him as they desperately tried to heat him up again.
