September Classics: The British Bulldog vs. Shawn Michaels – One Night Only 9/27/97

I found it very difficult to find One Night Only videos that were intact. This was a very good UK PPV, and I remember watching it live back in Canada, the homeland. Plenty of this thing called “wrestling” on this show. There was a Dude Love vs. Hunter Hearst Helmsley match, Vader vs. Owen Hart, and The Undertaker vs. Bret Hart. But do you think I could find a complete version of any of those? So I settled for this two-part clip of HBK and the Bulldog. The heat for this match was off the friggin’ charts. Don’t forget to click on “read more” to get the second part. Enjoy.

First British World Champ

Hey Scott,

Hope you're enjoying the holidays. Here's my interview with Magnus on TNA's live event at Temple tomorrow night as well as his upcoming fitness book.

I can't believe he's the first British World Champ in over a century. Just mind-boggling.

Thanks!

I find it mind-boggling they even put the belt on him in the first place, but he seems like a good guy and it's not like it matters at this point anyway, so good for him.

Is The British Bulldog HOF worthy?

Scott,

There's an active petition to get The British Bulldog in the WWE Hall Of Fame

Should he go in? He did very little of note after the SummerSlam 1992 match with Bret.

He was one of those names that both promotions would routinely pick up based on his name value (Starting with WCW in 1993) but never did much with because he was never over enough in the U.S.

In fact, his second WCW run (post-screwjob), and the WWF run that followed that were both pretty sad.

W

ow, a petition.  That'll make Vince stand up and take notice.
Here's how you determine if someone is worthy of the WWE Hall of Fame:  Are they a wrestler who used to wrestle for WWE at any point in the past?  There you go, potential Hall of Famer.  Bulldog?  Sure, why not.

Great (?) Match of the Day: British Bulldogs v. Demolition

From Wrestlefest 88, one of those “lost” supercards that doesn’t really get much love in the DVD era either.  I wouldn’t really call it a “great” match as such, but I liked it well enough and this was the Demos at the height of their powers as heels, fo shizzle.  Feel free to keep sending interesting Youtube links, everyone.
