Aw. Hopefully all the fat, out of shape sweathogs in heaven are keeping the noise down for him.

And then we get a promo video for the PPV featuring Rock’s funeral for Austin. Well that’s unfortunate.

Last time on RAW: Kane and X-Pac put aside their clashing color schemes and win the WWF tag titles from Owen Hart & Jeff Jarrett and become the original Vince Russo “Wacky Tag Team Partners Who Hate Each Other”. RSPW is still waiting for that alternate outfit for Kane in D-X green, I’m afraid.

I know. This show and myself have a complex and heated relationship. I hate watching it, and it doesn’t even do particularly impressive numbers on the blog. But it’s quick and easy to recap and now that I’ve started, I only have to make it to July and then it’s DONE! At least as far as the Network is concerned.

So yeah, on RAW, Undertaker tried to sacrifice the Big Bossman on a giant cross and got arrested as a result, which seems like some kind of religious persecution to me. Also, Rock lets us know that Paul Wight apparently carries a card that declares him to be a roody poo candy ass. Why would he want to carry that kind of ID? No wonder he changed his name.

Given that I’m currently knee-deep in the infuriating Dirty John on Netflix, I’m starting to feel like an abused spouse who keeps crawling back to this show. But, I mean, if I just blow through the entire run of Superstars in one shot, I won’t have anything left to watch.

Also I think there’s a thing that happens on this show. So there’s that.

Ugh this show annoys me SO MUCH but it’s a quick recap and there’s usually material to talk about. So we’ll soldier on for now until Superstars replaces it as my go-to quickie Network recap.

So on the episode of RAW after St. Valentine’s Day Massacre, Mankind lost the WWF title back to the Rock, and X-Pac lost the European title to Shane McMahon in a title change I had blocked out of my mind. Also, some guy named “Paul Wight” is now working for Vince.

Live from Memphis, TN, and this is the pre-game show for St. Valentine’s Day Massacre.

We get highlights of the god-awful Skydome RAW where Vince pinned Austin to win the gauntlet match to start, which hopefully isn’t setting the tone for this show.

Well, Andy has already claimed Christmas Star Wars for today, so I guess I’ll trudge back to Sunday Night Heat tonight. Thankfully there’s lots more Hidden Gems to go around this week.

It’s the pre-show for Royal Rumble 99! Sadly I don’t think I’ll have time to redo it this weekend.

OK, so let’s face it, I was going to have to lobotomize myself with a Black & Decker cordless drill if I had to sit through any more of early 99 RAW, but I was still mostly enjoying Heat because it was:

a) Fast-paced enough that nothing terrible stuck with me long, and;

b) It’s short.

So I feel like now that I’ve had a few weeks off from the horrors of Vinnie Ru at the beginning of 99, I can at least go back to Heat for 45 minutes a week. Plus the show only runs up until HHH’s famous “I am the Game” interview in July anyway. So let’s get back to it!

Alrighty then. This is probably where I’ll end off with Heat, since the show stops in July on the Network anyway. I could continue on for the sake of completion, but clearly the show’s not getting any better and there’s other stuff out there.

Wally Yamaguchi cuts a promo in Japanese for Kaientai in the cold open, so I guess they’re being featured this week! Can’t wait until they lose in 2:00 thanks to outside interference!

Taped from somewhere.
