Howdy Blog O’Doomers!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and it was particularly special for those who served or have family that served time for their respective country.

RAW is live tonight. It’s a go home show for Survivor Series. Apparently there will be more McMahons on because we need more McMahons. Scott has a rant on Mid-Atlantic Wrestling from 1985 today. Sounds fun. I’ve tried to watch Mid Atlantic but I can’t get into it. Hey WWE Network content lords…GIVE ME GEORGIA CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING!!! Please…pretty please 🙂

Giants-49ers is your Monday Night game of two teams going absolutely nowhere. 10 NBA games and four NHL games.

Interesting non-sports TV tonight. There’s an HBO documentary on the determination of the price of art, which is the type of nerdy shit I must watch and a Nat Geo documentary on Mars for you earth science types.

And we’re back where we started. Lesnar as Universal Champion in preparation for getting mauled in the Octagon. A heel McMahon on the horizon (maybe) and promotion making so much money now, then and forever that nothing needs to make sense. RAW is in England and there are a whole bunch of rematches schedule.

Cowboys-Titans is your MNF game, bad teams for sure, but Dallas is always a draw.

Full slate of NBA games, I might take a peek at the Thunder-Pelicans game on NBA TV. Five NHL games with Dallas-Boston on ESPN+.

As for other TV, There is an episode of Full Frontal on the day before U.S. midterm elections that might be fun. Usual slate of stuff otherwise.

Hopefully you all had a great weekend and are having a great Monday. If you haven’t already you should read Scott’s review of the full “Last Battle of Atlanta” card that was released on the Network and if you have the Network than by all means watch the show.

We are a week from Evolution and two weeks from the Blood Money PPV so we’re looking at back-to-back go home shows. The Evolution card is still pretty undetermined besides the Battle Royale, Charlotte-Becky, Ronda-Bella and Mickie/Alexa vs. Trish/Lita. Assuming they will do the NXT rematch and the Mae Young final as well but who knows.

A bunch of guys missed shows over the weekend and apparently Reigns is injured. And there’s now word from Barstool that John Cena and Daniel Bryan won’t work the Saudi show so who the hell knows. Bottom line is both of these PPVs are a mess going into the final stretch.

Giants-Falcons is your Monday night game. Nine NBA games and four NHL games. World Series starts tomorrow. Basic TV fare fills up the hours otherwise.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and have enjoyed a good start to the week. The big WWE related news is an SI report on how some of the talent isn’t too keen on performing in a country where the government just ordered the death of a reporter via torture through a bone saw…allegedly.

For the most part I’d be shocked if something changed. The blood money has probably already changed hands, the tickets have been sold and the women have been assigned their caves to hide in. But there’s a chance they could change locations or some talent with real cache to make HHH or Vince think twice will refuse to participate.

Anyway it’s fun to speculate and see how what they will focus their build on tonight. If it’s heavy on Evolution and Survivor Series (remember that show?) than there might be something to it. If it’s nothing both DX, Undertaker and Kane videos than it’s business as usual.

We’ve got some football with the Packers and 49ers on ESPN and Game 3 of the NLCS on Fox Sports 1. Four NHL games are on tap as well. Beyond that we’ve got The Voice, Arrow, Dancing with the Stars and all kinds of fun stuff.

Howdy Blog O’Doomers!

I hope everyone had an awesome weekend. Super Duper Showdown is behind us while Evolution and the Crown Jewel are ahead of us so expect a ton of catchup build on those two events tonight (rumors have Lita backstage). As for Super Showdown, I barely watched it but from what I can tell the only major thing that happened was the end of the AJ/Samoa Joe program and that’s not even going to be touched tonight. So let’s see where this thing is headed. Also Survivor Series is scheduled for Nov. 18 so we’re probably looking at weeks of builds for three shows.

Big fight this past weekend. I enjoyed the fights, especially the guy that said he took off his pants because his balls were too hot. I bet that’s an occupational hazard from time to time. And of course Khabib beating up Conor was a blast. I only hate that the post-fight antics deprived us of a “If he dies, he dies” sort of promo from Khabib. Also scan YouTube and Twitter for hilarious videos of drunken Irish dudes getting knocked out left and right.

Saints/Washington team tonight on NFL as Drew Brees goes for the big passing record. MLB playoff baseball is on as well. Tons of stuff to watch.

So we’re here! The final RAW before the Super Duper Showcasedown or whatever is happening. All I know is that if we don’t get all Undertaker-HHH all the time tonight I’ll be VERY disappointed!

Liv Morgan isn’t dead but being kicked in the face gave her the urge to get some new hair (don’t worry fellas, she still has the same backside)

Speaking of this incident, it’s now being described as “cyberbullying” and Daniel Bryan has come to the defense of his wife. Be a star why don’t cha?!

Outside of the rasslin’ we’ve got the rest of this NL West Division tiebreaker and the Broncos-Chiefs on Monday Night Football. Sports not your thing? Well then you might want to watch The Voice and Better Call Saul like I do. I also think there’s a new Dancing With the Stars and whoa…the remake of Magnum PI already started. Hmmm.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. First let’s wish board favorite Stephanie McMahon a Happy Birthday. She’s 42 today and still holding up quite well. Apparently WWE social happy has montages of her slapping people to celebrate, FWIW she told Jericho on his podcast that the hardest she ever hit someone was Rock at the San Francisco Wrestlemania (yes I forgot which number that was…I’m just going to start referring to Wrestlemanias from the cities they are in…do it like Takeovers).

RAW should continue promoting toward the Super Duper Show Down and Evolution. Apparently there is a tag title match scheduled between Dolph & Drew vs. The Revival. That sounds exceptional if they give it time but they might not give it time.

Bucs-Steelers is your Monday night game and there’s where I am tonight. GO FOOTBALL GUYS! Season premieres of Big Bang Theory and The Voice if you don’t want to get with sports or sports entertainment tonight.

Have a great evening and…keep it clean!

Monday Night Open Mic

Howdy Blog O’Doomers!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and if you still like good wrestling shows you were treated to one last night with a few very good matches and one that even I thought “am I watching a five-star match” and it’s become trickier in modern times because you really don’t know if you’ve watched it until you can look at what other people think and everyone’s in agreement that said match was extremely good. So yeah watch HITC if you haven’t and DEFINITELY watch the Shield vs. Drew/Dolph match which reminded everyone what all four guys are capable of AND made Drew look like the biggest star of the bunch so it accomplished everything it was supposed to.

Now for RAW…The build to the Super Duper Showdown and I really don’t know what the matches look like for that with the exception of HHH-Taker.

Seahawks and Bears are on MNF. Thankfully Daniel Bryan is off so he can watch his favorite team.

The Emmy Awards are tonight. Anyone who follows Michael Che on IG has gotten a kick out of him “hyping” this up for the past month.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. RAW is live tonight for the go home to Hell in the Cell. Surely we’ll have a report on the assault against the Shield led by Kevin Owens and others. Also, to the shock of no one, Renee Young was officially named to the RAW broadcast team full time to replace Jonathan Coachman.

They’ve also got to try to continue builds on the Super Show-Down and Evolution as there is a lot of stuff happening.

Meanwhile they will go against a Jets-Lions and Rams-Raiders MNF doubleheader along with several other shows. If you guys aren’t checking out “Better Call Saul” you should.  Also there’s the American Ninja Warrior finale. See which Ninja is the most Ninja-est!

Friday’s Night Thread of Doom

Howdy Blog O’Doomers!

It’s Friday night. It’s your Friday night thread.

There’s some tennis and mid-major college football on.

Chris Jericho explained his reasoning for working All-In and breaking his “only WWE in the states rule”. It kind of makes sense. I don’t think he burned any WWE bridges and he continued a feud from Japan and promoted his upcoming thing AND got to be part of something very unique. Sort of a win-win-win-win.

That’s all I got. Behave yourselves.

Hope those of you celebrating Labo(u)r Day had a good one.

RAW is live tonight. There’s builds to Hell in the Cell, the Super Show Down AND Evolution so good luck to them figuring out how to pile all that in one basket.

More college football on tonight. Florida State vs. Virginia Tech. Go Noles I guess.

Saturday All Day Thread!

Howdy Blog O’Doomers!

No clue about any wrestling stuff and too lazy to look it up. Is ALL IN this weekend? Ok, that’s something.

And Scott has an Old School rant/review….keep doing RAW from 1998 Scott! Don’t wimp out. No one likes a quitter!

But it’s college football day. Let’s hope Ohio State gets destroyed and I was going to root for North Carolina since I’m the mother of a Tar Heel BUT their coach is a moron so I hope they lose and he gets fired.

Keep it clean or don’t…I’m only responsible for you guys on Monday.

Monday Night Open Mic

Howdy Blog O’Doomers!

Hope you all had a great weekend. First and foremost I think Scott is doing too many different seasons of RAW anyway. I mean we’ve got 1994, 1997 and 1998? Seems like a lot of the same show from different sides. I say keep the 1998/99 RAWs until Wrestlemania XV to set up the first Rock-Austin megaclash (and one of the best three show-ending matches on Wrestlemania to that point….even though the rest of the card was pure ass). Then go to NWA maybe a few weeks before the Superpowers formed in 1986.

As for tonight we’ve got another live episode of RAW as Braun Strowman tries to figure out how to combat the re-united Shield. I, for one, like the thought of bringing back the Shield. The whole gimmick is they are the “Hounds of Justice” and they didn’t attack Strowman until he attacked Reigns before trying to cash in. That wasn’t cool. The way I see it they are performing the gimmick.

As for some news. Brock’s really gone so he can get clowned by Daniel Cormier and then return for Wrestlemania.

Former Bayley superfan Izzy has been training and recently took bumps in an indy match she won. She’s like 11 too. Interesting and strange. Looking at the clips, it seems like she was extremely well protected but she’s not even a teenager.

I really liked this rather spontaneous, ad-libbed promo from New Day, little disjointed at the end but if the WWE doesn’t give Big E some sort of a singles push soon they are really missing the boat.

What else is on TV? American Ninja Warrior….Better Call Saul….Bachelor in Paradise…Last week not going head-to-head with football until 2019.

Monday Night Open Mic

Howdy Blog O’Doomers!

I hope you had a great weekend and are enjoying a great Monday. I decided to enjoy a wrestling marathon yesterday catching both Takeover Brooklyn IV and Summerslam. I loved Takeover, excellent matches as usual, and I really enjoyed Summerslam as the right people went over and the right decisions were made for the most part. Obviously the match quality is different in the latter than the former but it’s time we accept that they focus on different things and cater to different parts of the fan base.

RAW is live tonight and with Roman Reigns as the champion instead of the chaser we might be able to go in a new direction for the first time in months. It’ll likely be a tough crowd in Brooklyn for him to make his first remarks on his current title run but he’s been through rough crowds before.

Outside of wrestling there’s Monday Night Football preseason game on between the Ravens and Colts.

So do your thing and keep it clean!

Unfortunately it’s another sad day in the wrestling world as we lost Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart today. Neidhart is, of course, one half of one of the best tag teams in wrestling history. As his nickname would indicate he was the power half of the Hart Foundation and, in my opinion, a very underrated worker and athlete in that role. He was also an incredibly underrated promo and one of those guys who I really enjoyed more from a promo when he was a babyface because he (and Bret for that matter) didn’t change their character much, they were just fan favorites. There are a couple of promos that stick out. One was a “25 percent” promo after the Hart Foundation split from Jimmy Hart.

I hope every is having a great Monday and had a wonderful weekend. RAW is LIVE tonight as they continue the build to Summerfest! Ronda Rousey will be in the ring TONIGHT to battle Alicia Fox. And maybe we will get more information on Brock Lesnar attacking Kurt Angle and sort of attacking Paul Heyman too.

Matt Hardy might be in some serious pain.

Corey Graves’ brother went a little extra with his pro-Donald Trump gimmick this past weekend

In case you missed it The Rock went to the ‘Gram this past week with a very nice RIP message for Brian Christopher

Lots of baseball on TV with Little League stuff added to the mix and Preseason football happening mid-week.

Non-sports television includes the season premiere of Better Call Saul and the season finale of the Bachelorette and another week of American Ninja Warrior.

After a tough Sunday for fans of pro wrestling maybe we can all look forward to RAW today (doubtful). For those stuck in a hole over the last 24 hours the wrestling community lost WWE Hall of Famer Nikolai Volkoff, long time southern territory star Brickhouse Brown and WWF Attitude Era star Brian Christopher, a.k.a Grandmaster Sexy, who is also the son of WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler. Most people, save Sabu and New Jack, wished they all rest in peace.

As for RAW tonight we’re continuing the build to Summerslam as both Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey have been advertised to be on the show.

In other news apparently John Cena and Nikki Bella’s on-off relationship is off again, probably until next season begins taping.

In other TV there’s a Bachelorette reunion and American Ninja Warriors plus the season finale of Dietland. In sports there’s some baseball and whatever junk the sports networks can throw on TV to kill time until football season starts.

I hope all of you had a great weekend. It’s a Monday night and that means a live episode of RAW where Stephanie McMahon is back and has a BIG announcement. I don’t know and I don’t really care but let’s hope it’s something that might alter the current course of dredge that the promotion is in.

Outside of the big Stephanie announcement there’s a Roman-Lashley match that we’re going to see I think and Finn Balor will take on Drew McIntyre in another match. So that’s promising.

As for other sports television…not much besides baseball and whatever crap ESPN can throw on a channel. This weekend apparently it was corn hole and “spike ball” whatever that is.

As for non-sports television we’ve got The Bachelorette and American Ninja Warrior and a new episode of Dietland. It all sounds amazing.

And just like that we’re done with Extreme Rules and on to the next one which is…Summerslam? I think. Well at least that’s one that they might TRY to do something with and on the brighter side NXT TakeOver Brooklyn IV which should excite many of us. Extreme Rules was great if you love heels going over up and down the card and a show ended with Dolph Ziggler standing triumphant.

Anyhoo RAW is live tonight and surely something will happen with Brock Lesnar. My early guess is either he jobs out the title to Lashley quickly or it’s held up. If it’s held up than at least we have a tournament. And tournaments rule!

The Jason Jordan watch continues.

There is also a Home Run Derby happening tonight.

I hope you’ve all had a great weekend. We continue on the road to Extreme Rules, which…doesn’t look as crummy as the last PPV did at least. Most of that it’s thanks to things happening on the Smackdown side but whatever.

Raw is live tonight. If you were hoping to see Fandango, sorry to disappoint but he’ll likely be on the shelf for the rest of 2018 with an torn labrum. I hope it’s not in his primary fandango-ing arm. Maybe they can shuttle Tyler Breeze to 205 Live for a while and let him have some good matches.

Different reports have the dates that Brock Lesnar will get destroyed by Daniel Cormier. Some say November at MSG and others say he can’t compete until his time in the testing pool is done in January. Either way he’s getting FUBAR but will have plenty of time to return for Wrestlemania.

Ric Flair had a successful surgery and should be able to go “Woo’ on a bitch sooner than later.

Otherwise there’s baseball and tennis highlights and stuff.

I hope our Canadian BoD’ers had a tremendous Canada Day yesterday and the American contingent on the board are looking forward to Independence Day on Wednesday.

Tonight we have an another live episode of RAW as we move toward the Extreme Rules PPV later in the month. There’s going to be a counseling session between frenemies Sasha Banks and Bayley that might be a disaster but will likely be heavily analyzed either way. Expect more shenanigans with Kevin Owens and Braun Strowman and there’s probably a Reigns/Rollins vs. Ziggler/McIntyre on tap for tonight as well.

Also stay on the look out for the return of Jason Jordan, who sadly got injured right about the time he was starting to develop into something interesting. He might return or be released, who knows.

Lots of baseball and LeBron talk elsewhere in the sports world. Keep it clean!

This is being done earlier in the day than I’m used to so it’s a little bit of a quiet Monday so far. Charlotte put some photos from her spread in the upcoming ESPN Body Issue on her Instagram page.

RAW is live tonight and the only announced match I can remember is the Ziggler/Rollins rematch for the Intercontinental title. Hard to believe Dolph Ziggler is still a thing.

In other TV, I think the College World Series starts tonight or you could watch Russia get exposed by a good soccer team in one of the World Cup replays.

Happy Monday! We survived the build to MITB and those that watched the whole show (not me) survived that too. I can say the pieces I did watch were perfectly fine and enjoyable so sometimes the final result is better than the process.

Anyway RAW is back at it with four weeks until Extreme Rules so expect a quicker build for that one.

Outside of wrestling there’s plenty of baseball either professional or college so you guys have at it. And some World Cup Replays.

Also a new episode of Dietland and the MTV Movie and TV Awards are on tonight.

Hope you have all had a fantastic Monday. Is this the final week of build for Money in the Bank? I hope so. God knows I am ready for whatever the July PPV is.

RAW is Live tonight I think.

Despite being WWE Universal Champion since the start of the Obama presidency, Brock Lesnar is apparently eager to step in the octagon and face Jon Jones according to carny apprentice Dana White. Drug testers can stay home.

Not sure what else is on. Maybe some College World Series. I’ll probably watch those episodes of Flip or Flop sitting on my DVR. Oh yeah, and there’s the Bachelorette. Some WWE guys need to do that show. I nominate Dolph Ziggler.
