The Princess Rant on Dark Side of the Ring (Season 2, Episode 1)

The first episode of the second season is a two-hour one on the Benoit murders.

The episode opens with Chris’ son, David, talking about his father and said that he looked up to the Dynamite Kid and that’s what got him into wrestling and that’s who he wanted to be.

EXTRA NOTE: For the BoD member that asked about my Wrestlemania refunds. Our tickets to Hall of Fame and Friday Night Smackdown were comped so no lost there. TakeOver and Wrestlemania tickets were bought through Ticketmaster and we got the email about a refund a while back, it’s a 30-day refund time from time of cancelation. So our money should be returned pretty shortly.

Well we’ve made it through at least one full week (depending on where you are) of this isolation and that’s one week closer to this thing ending. When will it end? Who knows.

Apparently RAW is sort of live tonight, but they have been taping things all day and for the future so it will be hard to tell what’s live and what’s on tape. Hopefully AEW takes the same route and just kept taping from last week.

Since they are building to Wrestlemania I wouldn’t mind seeing some more classic matches, especially if the participants can break kayfabe and talk about the matches. As much as I enjoyed re-watching Wrestlemania 30 on ESPN last night, I would love to hear Orton and Bryan talk about the match and the crowd response and what worked, what might’ve been an audible or a botched move that the viewer wouldn’t necessarily catch.

Otherwise, guys just be careful and take care of yourselves. We’re all in this virtual, magical world but I don’t want to see any of you or your loved ones get sick, especially with something that is potentially fatal. This absolutely sucks. I hate not being able to do what I want to do and go where I want to go and eat with my husband at one of our favorite local restaurants. But those things will come again and for now all we have is our health.

As for other TV tonight. NFL Network is showing a bunch of old Super Bowls. NBC Sports is showing a bunch of old NHL Hockey.

A Plot to Destroy America continues on HBO. The first episode was awesome.

What a difference a week makes eh? As much of the world sits in self quarantine and people here in the U.S.A freak the hell out (guys you don’t have to buy ALL the food today…please). We’ll see who can make it through this weirdo version of Survivor.

RAW is coming from somewhere tonight although I wouldn’t be surprised if they just taped it earlier. No reason for them not to tape stuff for the rest of the month and just let people stay at home until the end of the month. There are no fans there to leak tapings.

Wrestlemania still isn’t officially canceled but that axe certainly has to fall in the next 48-72 hours.

As for other sports on tonight…LOL…there isn’t a damn thing on tonight. Wash your hands and read a book you nasties. Non-sports is the usual array of quality binge-able shows like Better Call Saul and the HBO mini-series “The Plot to Destroy America” looks excellent.

Everyone stay safe and keep it clean.

I hope everyone had a good weekend and got back after it this Monday. We had a Network Special last night and as shows go…it was a show. Couple of good matches and a lot of insignificant stuff. Crowd seemed to die at the end, but the Wrestlemania card starts to take hold.

Scott and Thomas both have reviews. Scott hated it. Thomas liked it. They both thought the card died at the end. I would agree. I thought the stuff I thought would be good was good and the tag chamber match was pretty fun. The stuff I didn’t think was going to be good wasn’t good. I’m not buying Baszler as anything more than a new villain to feed to Becky. She’s a good worker and at times she can be a great heel, but I’m not feeling it with her in this higher-profile role. The connection just isn’t there for me. In hindsight where she was at NXT is probably her ceiling, she was the gatekeeper for the women’s division and they smartly kept her strong until there was someone with real star potential to beat her. So by Summerslam, I could easily see Baszler back in a similar position and Rhea Ripley moving up and becoming one of the top women.

RAW is live tonight and finally they can just build to Wrestlemania. Edge is returning to bring more juice to one of the few Wrestlemania programs that’s got some heat. Undertaker is supposed to be in the house. Is Brock in the house? Not sure.

Light NBA and NFL slates. College basketball is in conference tournament mode with the brackets set to be released Sunday. Another night of “Better Call Saul” and “McMillions” for me.

Super Tuesday Night Thread!

Not sure who fell asleep at the wheel on this one. Thank God for me.

We got Super Tuesday on the political spectrum with Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders fighting to the literal death to win the Democratic nomination for U.S. President.

Is AEW Dark on tonight? How about NWA Powerrrrrr? Just curious.

All kinds of sports on otherwise.

Here’s a video of Drew McIntyre looking like a TOP GUY last night.

Hope everyone is avoiding Muh-muh-muh-muh My Corona…virus. As Lacey Evans would say, wash your hands you flithys.

This is the RAW go home show for Elimination Chamber, which has officially become a PPV that happens. Last year we got Kofimania out of it, but this year it’s a final push for the last main match that hasn’t been announced yet, Shayna Baszler vs. Becky Lynch. The original announcement was Baszler vs. Asuka tonight, which is fine albeit it seems like a waste. But Asuka has a wrist injury so it’ll be Baszler vs. Kairi Sane, which should be fine since they spent the better part of a year in a program together in NXT.

Check out Scott and Thomas’ reviews on AEW Revolution. I liked the show, even though I supposedly hate AEW and trust me there’s nothing I love to do more than spend $50 on things I hate. I really liked the three singles matches I was most interested in. Dustin Rhodes is still a great worker and I loved the story of making Hager look like a beast, without going overboard and making him look unbeatable. Instead he looks like a tough, stout guy that Dustin couldn’t beat, but someone better than him might be able to. Dustin’s good at that stuff.

Cody-MJF was exactly what it was supposed to be — two guys that hate each other trying to outdo their amount of hate for each other. Mox-Jericho felt kind of overbooked and underwhelming after a long show, but it was still a good effort. Still not into most of the Elite, but AEW has other stuff I can get into that doesn’t include them.

TV for me tonight is the continuing awesome season of Better Call Saul and McMillions at 10. There’s some college basketball on too.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

RAW is live tonight and it’s the go home show for Blood Money III: Bonesaw Bugaloo. Of course we’re getting a Black-Rowan rematch tonight because Rowan is good guy to take falls for Black.

Full slate of NBA games tonight. One NHL game because it was trade deadline and apparently everyone was traded. Probably some Cactus League stuff still going on. Check out Scott’s rant on the AWA/NWA Night of Champions and him dumping all over Rick Martel.

I’m composing this on my phone instead of my MAC so it’s going to be a quick one. I hope everyone had a great weekend. There are reviews of Takeover: Portland from Scott and Thomas and both are worth reading.

I thought it was a typical Takeover — everything was good. The big man match was exceptional and the tag match was super fun. My husband called the Garganp turn a while back. It only makes sense given Ciampa turned on him and tried to do it a second time. Plus I wouldn’t mind seeing Johnny and Candice heeling it up for a while.

RAW is still pushing toward Blood Money III and I expect the hard sale for that tonight. It’s Big Monday college basketball on ESPN tonight.

A couple of videos to check out that I can’t link this second. The Rock visited the Performance Center and posted an eight minute video on Instagram. And if you go about 20 minutes into the YouTube post-Takeover thing with Triple H you will get to him and the Undisputed Era saying good bye to Cathy Kelley, who worked her last show Sunday. It’s cute and sweet. Clearly they thought highly of her. Although HHH emphasizing that “you’re ALWAYS NXT” does come off a little like a mafia threat. Oh well.

I hope everyone had a fine weekend. I caught the Jon Jones fight because it was at a party my husband and I attended. I thought Jones won but apparently it was really controversial. Oh well.

In the newz. Thread favorite Alexa Bliss is dating a singer named Ryan Cabrera. Apparently this broke over the weekend but I just happened to glance at TMZ at the gym this morning.

Some people think they are going to job Goldberg to the Fiend. You guys are funny. Less than three minutes Goldberg will spear and jackhammer Bray Wyatt back to the funhouse and prepare for the Roman Empire at Wrestlemania. I’m CALLING IT!

Check out some of Scott’s old reviews from Steamboat-Flair matches of the 20th century. It’s nice to see that all this AEW hasn’t clouded Scott’s mind of what good wrestling still is.

Speaking of good wrestling, you might not see any tonight on RAW, but we are a short spell away from Blood Money III: Back in Training and of course Wrestlemania is right around the corner.

Keep. It. Clean.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend and enjoyed the Super Bowl. Really happy for the Quaker Oats guy. I loved him in The Firm and it seemed like everyone was happy for him.

Well now we get to wait five days until the start of the XFL and see if that will either save or destroy the WWE long term.

RAW is Live tonight which means we’ve got build for Wrestlemania and more importantly Blood Money III. Andrande was written off of TV last week so whatever U.S. Title program existed is on the shelf for a few weeks.

Cageside Seats reports Drew-Brock is your WM 36 Main Event. I don’t mind that.

Welcome to the Road to Wrestlemania! Obviously Wrestlemania is big deal to me this year since it’s right in my backyard and I’ll be there for the 14-hour main show. Probably will take in NXT, hang out at the FanFest for a bit and take a whirl at a couple other Indies in town. Plus I’ll have that promised surprise for you.

As for the weekend events. Worlds Collide was fine. Excellent main event and tag match between DIY and Mustache Mountain. It’s probably a better fit as the lead-in to Wrestlemania than the Rumble though. Wrestlemania attracts such a huge international crowd I feel like the attendance would be better and more engaged.

The Rumble itself was fine. Both Rumble were good and watchable. The men’s rumble had some great moments. Becky-Asuka was pretty good. Daniel Bryan continues to make miracles with Bray Wyatt. Maybe he could drag something interesting out of Baron Corbin, but I wouldn’t want to ask too much out of the poor guy.

The best moments were definitely Edge trying to hold it together during his entrance. You could tell the emotions were THIS close to getting the best of him. And hey, he looked damn good in there too. And Drew getting the win…he couldn’t keep his emotions in check, which Vince will probably frown upon, but I felt like it made his win seem even bigger. Guy has had to wait a long time for his turn. Brock vs. Drew is a fresh matchup and Drew is a big, physically-impressive guy so visually it looks good. Brock has been dancing with Kofi, Rey and Rollins for a year so having a bigger guy challenge him is good.

Charlotte was going to win…It happens. Hopefully she’ll do us a favor and end Sad Bayley once and for us. It’s bad enough the WWE screwed Bayley up to start, but it’s really impressive how they have doubled down and made it worse.

Anyway RAW should start the build to recently announced Blood Money III: Season of the Desert Witch and Wrestlemania around there. Edge will be on the show tonight and I’m hopeful we will have a Brock-Drew encounter.

As for the news yesterday, I don’t admit to being a big Kobe fan, Tracy McGrady was probably my favorite post-Jordan/pre-LeBron player. I don’t deny his impact in the sports world and as a global icon. But as a parent, I’m absolutely crushed over three children and a mother/wife losing their father, husband and sibling. Any parent wants nothing more than to protect your children for as long as you can and I can’t imagine the feeling of helplessness the parents on that helicopter felt knowing they couldn’t protect their daughters.

Tonight actually marks the go home show for the Royal Rumble. For real? Damn I have been so lost with WWE main shows. Between NXT and trying to like AEW (not there yet, trying hard though), no time for this RAW/Smackdown silliness.

But I heard last week’s RAW was decent so maybe I’ll give tonight a whirl. We’ve got Andrade vs. Rey Rey in a ladder match for the U.S. title. Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre. Probably more Seth Rollins than we’ll want. Is Brock supposed to be on TV tonight? Who knows. Maybe they will build the women’s Rumble a little bit. Probably not though.

The Rock put out about an 8 minute video statement following the death of his father. He says early that his father died quick and he didn’t get a chance to say good bye.

Already midway through the month of January are we? I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. It’s the second-to-last RAW before the Royal Rumble and the official start to the Road to the Wrestlemania and there’s a lot of work to do to drum up interest. I hate to already jinx the Wrestlemania in my home region, but Wrestlemanias with boring build-ups usually suck. I’m hopeful that RAW can get a little better.

That being said I won’t know tonight because I will be watching the Football game instead. I think the Tigers will win.

There are two separate reviews on the NXT UK Takeover Show. Read them both please as Scott and Thomas have put in hard work to provide content.

Good lord did this holiday season wear me out. I am so happy things seemed back to routine this Monday. Always breaks my heart to see my son head back off to college, but such is parent life and it gets easier each time.

RAW is live tonight and Brock Lesmar returns in time for one of his contract PPV appearances at the Royal Rumble. It’s going to hard core build for the Rumble for the three shows so be ready for it. And then it’s Wrestlemania right here in my backyard.

Speaking of Wrestlemania, I’m going to give you guys a gift when the time comes. I will have something that the authority won’t want you to see. That’s all I can tell you for now, but in a couple of months I’ll disclose more.

(That’s called a tease for those of you not familiar with the business)

Meanwhile as we prepare for war, enjoy RAW or watch the second to last bowl game on ESPN or prepare for the start of the Greatest Jeopardy Match of All Time starting tomorrow. There’s PBS documentary on Joe McCarthy I might peep too.

Howdy!

Is it Monday? I guess it is. I lose track of the days this time of year.

I hope everyone is enjoying the final minutes of the holiday season. Soon it will be 2020 and who know what that will bring.

RAW tonight is….ummm…is it live? I don’t know. I can’t even tell you what’s scheduled. There are some bowl games and other stuff to watch too.

Just have a good night and keep it clean!

I hope everyone is having a nice close to the Holiday season. It truly is my favorite time of year, but I’m equally happy when it’s over.

Is RAW live tonight? Hell if I know. It’s probably their Christmas episode which means it’ll be a little less overbearing than normal. I know we have Seth Rollins vs. Rey Mister for the U.S. Title, but I’m not sure past that.

GREAT Monday Night game between the Vikings and the Packers. Pretty sure it’s the final MNF game of the season too.

Enjoy the evening and keep it Merry!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and maybe got a little holiday shopping done. Couple of items.

WWE released The Ascension, Sin Cara and Luke Harper yesterday. Everyone likes Luke of course, I’ll also say that Viktor from the Ascension always stood out to me as someone with a lot of talent.

Sami Zayn had to set some moron straight. Of course it was in Florida. I swear living here I can safely say I know what Dark Helmet feels like (Spaceballs reference for those of you not familiar).

RAW is live tonight. Rusev and Lana are getting “divorced” and hopefully Rusev kicks more ass.

I am sitting at a hockey game. GO LIGHTNING. You, however, can watch what you like.

I hope everyone had a great weekend, a great long holiday weekend in the states and just a normal great weekend for other areas of this big wide world.

RAW tonight should continue with the Seth Rollins heel turn, which got off to a good start last week in my opinion. I know it’s shocking that kind of a whiny hypocritical dude in real life can pull off being a whiny hypocritical character. There is also a Charlotte vs. Kabuki Warriors handicap match advertised and I’m worried about how inept they will make Asuka and Kairi look.

NXT picked up another ratings win, probably because all those young cool TV watches that AEW gets actually decided to hit the bars Wednesday. Make fun of old viewers if you want, but they’re loyal. That’s why Law & Order SVU has been on for 22 seasons.

Seahwawks-Vikings is your EXCELLENT Monday Night Football matchup.

Six NBA, Five NHL, limited slate of men’s college basketball, little more on the women’s side.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. In the states it’s the big prep period for Thanksgiving and the official start of the holiday retail season. Anyone out there going to truck over some old lady to get a big screen TV?

Lots of wrestling this weekend. Saw Takeover, loved it, really loved the women’s War Games match and explained why in a detailed comment on Scott’s Rant. Saw about 70 percent of Survivor Series, it wasn’t bad, was moving well, will try to finish it tomorrow. Saw about half of Austin’s sit down with Undertaker, seemed like it was a good honest conversation.

RAW tonight wraps up this four-day plunge into Chicagoland. Asuka-Charlotte, Styles-Carrillo are two matches announced for tonight.

Damn good Monday night football game with the Ravens traveling to Hollywood to face the Rams. Plenty of NBA and NHL on the docket. I’ll be in my seats at Amalie Arena cheering on the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight as they play the Buffalo Sabres.
