Happy Saturday Everyone!

I had pizza last night and it was a magical experience. Can’t beat The ‘Za!!

I’m off to Villa Park today to see if Everton can keep their good start to season going. Aston Villa is always one of my favourite away days as it’s pretty easy to get to, there’s free parking in walking distance from the ground, and Villa Park itself is one of the nicer and more historic stadiums in all of English football. I just hope The Toffees leave Birmingham with the 3 points.

Happy Friday Everyone!

Caught some of the Dark Side of the Ring “Plane Ride From Hell” episode, and all I can say is that I feel terrible for the poor flight crew that had to deal with all of that stuff going on. I know some like to romanticise the old days of how wrestlers were all wild men who got up to craziness (and indeed it does still go on today to a certain extent) but I think the Plane Ride is a great example of what happens when stuff like that is allowed to get way too out of hand. Wrestlers going to their hotel rooms to play Xbox is infinitely preferable to them getting smashed and then running around naked in my opinion, even it is more “boring” than what wrestlers used to get up to with more regularity in the “good old days”

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Holy mackerel are AEW loading up those Arthur Ashe shows! As Gorilla Monsoon on this very Blog would say, they’ll have people hanging from the rafters in that stadium for Dynamite and Rampage. It will truly be a happening!

Shout out to Club Bruges last night who managed to hold the mighty PSG to a draw. I’m sure the Belgian fans liked sticking it to the French!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Found out today that I’ll finally be heading back to the office after a LONG time of working at home, so these updates might not be quite as detailed from next week regards news and whatnot, but I’ll still make sure to get a thread up every day. I’m quite relieved to be honest as the lack of human interaction was becoming a genuine bummer recently.

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Pretty rubbish game last night for the most part, although I personally enjoyed the 10 minutes where Everton were good. That Townsend goal was something else and should really be in the conversation for Goal of the Month. Absolute blammo!

Won’t spoil Raw, and to be fair I haven’t watched it, but it sounds like you might want to check out Thomas’ review.

Mike Reviews – WWF Raw is War (22nd September 1997)

WWE ran MSG yesterday (I’m writing this ahead of time but I assume that show still went ahead) so I thought I’d go back in time to look at another occasion where they ran The Garden during a September. This episode of the show was seen as a symbolic attempt by the WWF to fight back against WCW after being on the losing end of the Monday Night War for over a year, and it featured some genuinely memorable moments that have made their way onto “Best of Raw” compilations for many years since.

The WWF was beyond the really rocky period of 1996 by this stage and were tootling along just fine business wise, but they were still out in 2nd place when it came to WCW and that just boiled Vince McMahon’s blood, so they were pushing hard to get back into the race. I’m watching this on WWE Network, so if anything is missing then it’ll likely be because they cut it out so as not to anger the folks at Peacock.

Happy Friday Everyone!

Rampage is tonight, with PAC Vs Andrade, Brian Pillman Jr Vs Max Caster and a trios match with Team D.M.D Vs Team Soho. I’m sure Smackdown will be happening as well, but I don’t really care about that. Hopefully it’s fun if you like watching it.

Continued thoughts with Triple H and his family at this difficult time. May he be back and swinging hammers in due course.

Mike Reviews – ROH Night Of The Grudges (14th June 2003) – Concluding Part

Let’s finish this one off. When we last left things in Part One, Justin Credible had made his ROH debut and CM Punk had once again gotten the better of Raven in their ongoing feud. Later on in this concluding part we have a match between AJ Styles and Paul London, as well as The Group taking on The Prophecy.

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I’ve been playing Quake Remastered on the Nintendo Switch recently and had some fun with it. If you’re interested in my thoughts you can click the link below. Basically, it’s Quake. It runs properly and looks nice, so if you like the idea of playing it with Joy Con’s then you should get it, or invest in a Pro Controller.

Happy Monday Everyone!

I’m writing this Sunday night before I head off to bed. I won’t be watching AEW All Out until Monday evening, so you won’t be seeing me about until then. I’m sure both Scott and Thomas will have reviews of the show and Andy PG might even have one too. I hope you enjoyed the show if you saw it and I might give you quick feelings of my own in Tuesday’s Daily Thread

Blog of DOOM Daily Thread – 5th September 2021

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Having some internet issues today so I’m just shoving this up whilst it’s willing to work. AEW All Out is tonight, and I’m suitably jazzed for it. My predictions are that Omega, Lucha Bros, Jericho and Punk will win the top matches. We’ll see how many of those I got right later on. I’m not staying up to watch it because I have work first thing Monday, so I’ll be scarce around here until Monday evening.

Mike Reviews – WWF In Your House 10: Mind Games (22nd September 1996)

Como Estan Beeches!

I’ve wanted to re-watch the Shawn Michaels Vs Mankind Main Event from this show for a while, so I thought I might as well review the entire show for good measure. This was a WWF pay per view from Philly and would represent the first time that the WWF and ECW worked together, so it’s kind of a historically significant show with an absolute banger in the Main Event, which was more than most of the throwaway IYH shows could boast at least.

Happy Saturday Everyone!

Rampage was a super easy watch and I felt the closing angle hyped the pay per view well. Looking forward to All Out, although I’m working Monday morning so I won’t get to watch it till Monday Evening, so I may be scarce for most of Monday around here outside of the Daily Thread.
