Thursday Night at the Indies Thread: December 30, 2021

Impact remains a clip show.

The Peach Bowl kicks off New Year’s Six action as Michigan State faces Pittsburgh.  Wisconsin and Arizona State have a nightcap.  NBATV’s doubleheader is Sixers/Nets, then Warriors/Nuggets.

But I’m here for the indies, and both IWTV and GCW are putting on multi-show extravaganzas!  Find out after the jump.

First, IWTV is having a multi-show WRESTIVAL starting tonight!  All shows on IWTV and emanating from Worcester, MA.

  • If you want to visit the archives, Pizza Party Pro’s Big Eyes, Bigger Dreams was earlier today at 4PMET!  I’m typing this up before it begins, so no spoilers.  The main event features Dasher Hatfield and Shea McCoy against Avery Good and Dan Champion — if Good/Champion win, Dasher unmasks, but if Hatfield/McCoy win, Avery remasks as Boomer Hatfield for the rest of his farewell tour!  Plus, a massive four-way tag match — Kings of the District, Salt the Earth, Mane Event, and Violence Is Forever!
  • Beyond wraps up their fall tradition of Uncharted Territory with the Season 3 Finale (tonight, 8PMET)!  Violence is Forever faces Discovery Gauntlet breakout team Waves and Curls!  Richard Holliday takes on Teddy Goodz!  The Mane Event face the Brick City Boyz in a battle of Gauntlet match winners!  And while the recent COVID upsurge means Alex Shelley is off the weekend shows, Matt Makowski will still be in action facing Jordan Blade!
  • ACTION Wrestling and Southern Underground Pro team up to provide you with a show they call “KEVINNNN!” (tomorrow, 3PMET)!  The aforementioned Kevin, Kevin Ku, teams with Violence Is Forever partner Dominic Garrini to face Tracy Williams and Wheeler Yuta!  Avery Good’s retirement tour continues against Jaden Newman!  AC Mack faces SLADE!  Alec Price tangles with Adam Priest!
  • The crown jewel of the weekend is Heavy Lies the Crown (tomorrow, 8PMET), the last/first event of the year!  Cam Zagami’s trio faces 44.OH!  SLADE brawls with JD Drake!  The IMPACT Digital Media title is on the line as Jordynne Grace defends against Willow Nightingale!  Tracy Williams and Wheeler Yuta meet Jonathan Gresham and Rhett Titus as the Foundation demonstrates wrestling!  Trish Adora and Megan Bayne collide!  And as appears to be Beyond tradition, the first match of 2022 will be a Fans Bring the Weapons match — this time it’s Kimber Lee and Masha Slamovich!
  • A new concept from Beyond is launched as Wrestling Open debuts (Saturday, 1PMET)!  Not much is known of the show as it’s a Mystery card, but early claims are it will be kind of like Discovery Gauntlet, but an entire show instead of a match — if that means more new talent to showcase, that’s a good thing!
  • Matt Tremont’s merry band of rejects in H2O take the stage next in the Massacre in Massachusetts (Saturday, 5PMET)!  Lucky 13 defends the Danny Havoc Memorial Hardcore Title against Chuck Payne!  Chris Bradley and Kristian Ross defend the tag belts against Anthraxx and GG Everson!  Tremont and Kennedi Copeland go after Brandon Kirk and Casey Katal in a Barbed Wire match!
  • And to finish the weekend, Limitless Wrestling steps to the plate with Limitless in Worcester (Saturday, 9PMET)!  Alec Price puts the big gold on the line against JD Drake!  Anthony Henry faces Acey Romero!  Jody Threat collides with Ashley Vox!  Masha Slamovich and Rip Byson square off!

Meanwhile, and not to be outdone, GCW has a two-night event coming to you from Atlantic City, NJ, on FITE:

  • The action begins with Til Infinity (Friday, 8PMET)!  Atticus Cogar faces Everett Connors!  Second Gear Crew and Young Dumb ‘N’ Broke meet in six-man tag action!  AKIRA fights G-Raver!  PCO is back with an open challenge!  Allie Katch faces Charli Evans!
  • And then on New Year’s, they return with Die For This (Saturday, 8PMET)!  The Ultraviolent title is on the line as Alex Colon defends against John Wayne Murdoch!  The Briscoes defend the tag belts against Alex Zayne and Blake Christian!  Calvin Tankman fights Tracy Williams!  EFFY goes one on one with Nate Webb!  Scotty 2 Hotty and Joey Janela go nostalgic!  And the next contender for the GCW Title is decided in a 20-person Rumble!

Our indie match of the week is a doozy as AEW’s past meets its future — Christopher Daniels vs. Brody King!

Bring the insanity!
