Impact, Indies, and Insanity: October 28, 2021

Tonight on IMPACT: Ace Austin and Chris Sabin keep it going from the Call Your Shot match; Heath Slater is in VBD’s crosshairs as he battles Joe Doering; Rachael Ellering goes one-on-one with Tasha Steelz; Trey Miguel defends the X Division Title against Rocky Romero; and VSK and Sam Beale go at it in a battle of Brian Myers’ current and former students.

Meanwhile, in sports: your NFL Game of the Week of the Day is Packers/Cardinals (which will actually be good); we have four college games, headlined by Coastal Carolina; and unfortunately, there’s no national basketball or hockey game to talk about.  Darn.

But we do have a few indies working the weekend, and a doozy of a match if you’re into their style, so let’s see:

  • WORCESTER, MA — Beyond continues the tradition tonight with the next episode of Uncharted Territory (Tonight, 8PMET, IWTV)!  Wheeler YUTA faces Masha Slamovich!  John Silver takes on Aaron Rourke!  Chris Dickinson teams with Willow Nightingale against Casey and Brandon Kirk!  Alex Reynolds gets Teddy Goodz!  The Discovery Gauntlet brings in the team of Joe Keys and Dante Caballero!
  • BERWYN, IL — AAW and the Eagles Club have a triple-header to honor Jim Lynam (all shows FITE)!  They open with first round action in the Jim Lynam Memorial Cup (Friday, 730PMCT) with a field including Hakim Zane, Myron Reed, Daniel Garcia, Lee Moriarty, Jake Something, Josh Alexander, ACH, Mance Warner, Davey Vega, Alexander Hammerstone, Steve Manders, and more!  They take a day off with Hell Hath No Fury (Saturday, 2PMCT), but no tournament doesn’t mean no awesomeness as the main event sees Eddie Kingston against Fred Yehi!  Then we finish it off by crowning a Memorial Cup champion (Sunday, 730PMCT), as the winner will walk to the ring three times to be named the best!
  • TRENTON, NJ — Hardcore Hustle Organization and FMW-E have the crazy to bring all weekend on IWTV!  Friday sees the Hustle Cup (8PM), where 16 wrestlers try to win the big prize, while Chris Bradley and Khristian Ross defend the tag gold on the undercard!  More tournament style action on Saturday (8PMET) as Tremont’s Deathmatch Tournament sees 16 wrestlers try to win two hardcore four-ways to hoist the prize up high!  But it all concludes at Destiny (Sunday, 8PMET) as 44OH! is in a 12-man tag, five women go for the Hybrid title in a scramble match, and finally — no injury problems, no pandemic, no nothing will stop it — we get Matt Tremont and Atsushi Onita one time for all time in a Double Hell Deathmatch!

Folks, recently Anthony Greene has been making a splash doing enhancement duty for AEW, so he’s our Featured Match of the Week.  We set the wayback machine to May 2018 and Maine as he enters a street fight against JT Dunn!  Given the deathmatch weekend for Tremont’s crew, the convergence of “no rules” and “hot talent” makes it a perfect pick!

Bring the insanity!
