Beyond “Butts in the Seats”

I think everyone is familiar with the cheap shots made during the Monday Night Wars. WCW giving away results and burying former WCW talent going to WWF, Vince responding with unfunny sketch comedy, and of course Bischoff challenging Vince to accept a fight on PPV. Arguably, the most (in)famous is Tony Schiavone's “that'll put butts in the seats” the night Mankind won the WWF Title. That has me wondering, as someone not familiar with WCW's TV at the time… is this their last major shot taken at the WWF?
Jim Ross would certainly have a few examples to share with you. But short answer, hell no. I wish they had stopped when they were ahead.
