Headlining C-shows…and (not) loving it!

By Scott Keith on 26 June 2021

What do you suppose was the attitude wrestlers had about main eventing the C tours back in the day? On the one hand, you're headlining. But on the other, being the main event in Ogdenville or North Haverbrook is not likely going to get you the same payouts
as working the Capital City show, right? Did people see headlining the C show as that kind of a demotion, or was it just rationalized as a paying gig is a paying gig?

PS. While we're here, instead of the Jackhammer, Goldberg should have called his finisher The Goldberg Variation. Eh? Eh? This thing on?

Most guys headlining the C-tour were people who were at best midcard on the A-tour, so they'd be happy to have the spotlight and main event money to themselves, typically. Normally that'd be your JYD v. Harley Race feud or Randy Savage v. Dusty Rhodes or stuff like that. Plus then you get 10 minutes instead of 3 to do your stuff. No downside to it, really.
