Going through your Observer Flashback's, it's obvious Dave Meltzer was pretty clueless & just flat out wrong on a lot of things even back in mid-80s: Wrestlemania 3 would be a huge flop, fans didn't care for Magnum T.A., Andre-Hogan was a -**** match, etc. Seems today he's still wrong as much as he's right.
However, Meltzer is regarded as possibly the top wrestling journalist. Does he deserve to be?
Yes. It's easy to cherry-pick a few things he got wrong and mine them for cheap humor, which is what I intentionally do for the Flashbacks, but that's a few bits out of literally hundreds of thousands of words' worth of business insight that he's provided for decades.
