What the World Was Watching: ECW Hardcore TV – November 21, 1995

Buh Buh Ray Dudley’s introduction and squash of the Broad Street Bully at November to Remember ’95 airs.

Joey Styles puts over how the Public Enemy owned November to Remember, winning big matches in the first two editions of the event over Badd Company and Cactus Jack and Mikey Whipwreck.

The 2 Cold Scorpio and Sandman-Public Enemy tag team title match from November to Remember is shown.  It is clipped a bit, but not as much as one would expect for how poor the match was.

Steve Austin’s attack on the Sandman and loss to ECW Champion Mikey Whipwreck at November to Remember is shown next.

Raven hypes an Ultimate Jeopardy match where if he loses then he loses Beulah McGillicutty.  He is unconcerned because she always comes back.  If Tommy Dreamer loses, then he gets a shaved head.  Raven talks about how Dreamer was not there when he needed him, regardless of what Dreamer claims today.  Dreamer suddenly attacks Raven near the end of the promo, screaming about how he was there.  The attack busts Raven open, who ends the promo by vowing to finish Dreamer once and for all.  Talk about dedication to one’s craft.

Sabu’s return to ECW at November to Remember closes the broadcast.

The Last Word:  Ending the show with the return of Sabu was the right way to go as it could make fans forget about the poor matches that filled the broadcast from November to Remember.  Next week ECW is promising words from Mikey Whipwreck, the Sandman, and Steve Austin so that will likely pave the way for a three-way dance at the next event for the ECW Championship.

ECW ran a house show in Salisbury Beach, Massachusetts before the next episode of Hardcore TV.  Here were the results of that show, courtesy of thehistoryofwwe.com:

Salisbury Beach, Massachusetts – Champs Arena – November 25, 1995 (275):  Stevie Richards beat Hack Myers…Raven pinned Tommy Dreamer in a death match after Taz interfered…The Eliminators beat the Pitbulls…The Public Enemy defeated Buh Buh Ray & Dances with Dudley…ECW Champion Mikey Whipwreck beat the Sandman.

Backstage News*:  ECW cancelled a planned Thanksgiving night show in Danbury, Connecticut that was supposed to feature an Ultimate Jeopardy cage match that would pit Tommy Dreamer, the Pitbulls, and the Public Enemy against Cactus Jack, Raven, Stevie Richards, 2 Cold Scorpio, and the Sandman.  The stipulations were that if the Public Enemy lost, they had to fight each other.  If the Pitbulls lost, they had to split up.  If Dreamer lost, he had to have his head shaved.  If Raven lost, the person that beat him got Beulah McGillicutty for a month.  If Richards lost, he would have to spend five minutes alone in the cage with all five of his opponents.  If Jack lost, he had to leave ECW.  If Scorpio lost, he lost the Television Championship as well as the ECW Tag Team Championship.  And if the Sandman lost, Woman had to leave ECW and he lost the ECW Tag Team Championship.  This match is likely to be moved to the ECW Arena show scheduled for December 9.  The Danbury card had good ticket sales but was cancelled because the night club from which it was to originate has not secured permission to open.  Some have pointed to a recent article in the Connecticut Post that was critical of the ECW product as a cause as well since local officials in Danbury may have confused ECW with the UFC, which is banned in New York, and stopped the night club from opening on time.  Despite the cancellation, Paul Heyman wants to return to Danbury but will choose a different venue because he thinks he can sellout a bigger arena.

*The promotion plans to run shows at Lost Battalion Hall in Queens, New York on a monthly basis starting next month.

*2 Cold Scorpio was supposed to defend the Television Championship against 911 at Salisbury Beach but missed the show because he was called in for a tour of Germany.

*In talent relations news, the Public Enemy have yet to make a decision about whether to head for the WWF or WCW.
