Thursday Night PRIME TIME Thread: September 17, 2020

“Good evening, wrestling fans, and welcome to another Thursday Night Prime Time here on the Blog of Doom.  Gorilla Monsoon here in the studio alongside Bobby the Brain Heenan, and… Brain, you’ve been making phone calls for hours, who are you talking to?”

“…yeah, I’m not sure of her last name.  I think it might be a question mark.”

“Have you been calling every Sue in the phone book?  What makes you think she cares about you?”

“Hey, a lady who would give that parting gift to Santana and Ortiz is my kinda gal!”

“I bet she reacts to you the same way.  Folks, if you missed NXT last night, General Manager William Regal announced an exciting new match concept.  The Royal Rumble staggered entries, but with pinfall or submission.  He’s calling it–”

“–Aztec Warfare!”

“I already told you, Brain, that’s not it!  He’s calling it the Gauntlet Eliminator.”

“So does that mean the gloves are off for this match?”

“Katie bar the door indeed, Brain.  All of this is leading to see who will face Finn Balor on the next TakeOver event on October 4!”

“Well, I’m sure it won’t be Velveteen Dream.  October 4 is a Sunday — that’s a school night!  His audience won’t be there!”

“I’m not going to dignify that one, Brain.  Folks, let’s get ready for our featured contest, as we pull one out of the vault.  Daniel Bryan, in a match very early in his journeyman career, steps into the ring to go one-on-one with the Anarchist, Arik Cannon!”

“If Cannon’s in it, let’s fire it up.”

“I see what you did there, Brain.”

(Bring the insanity — and if you’re watching IWTV this weekend, check out an indy tradition unlike any other — the ECWA Super 8!  People such as Christopher Daniels, Paul London, Jerry Lynn, Xavier Woods, Petey Williams, and Tommaso Ciampa have won in the past, so there’s a chance you’ll see someone who will make an impact in the future!)
