WWF Superstars – April 1st, 1995

April 1, 1995

Your hosts are Vince McMahon and Jerry “The King” Lawler as they are from the control room studio in Titan Towers.

The hosts talk about Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Lawrence Taylor as we get the same package we saw on RAW.

The Bob Backlund interrogation ad with Nicholas Turturro airs.

Back to the studio as the announcers talk about the “I Quit” match between Backlund and Bret Hart. Vince says the ring announcer will stick the microphone in the face of someone when put in a position where they could quit. After that we get a video package of Backlund yelling at the crowd then that leads to hype for Backlund vs. Bret.

We get a Bret Hart music video.

Jonathan Taylor Thomas tells us how excited he is to be a part of WrestleMania XI.

WWF Live Event News with Stephanie Wiand. She plugs WrestleMania and how to order it on PPV.

Once again to the studio where Vince talks about all of the stars who will be at WrestleMania. This leads to Salt ‘n Pepa telling us not to miss their performance.

Now, we get a video package to hype Jeff Jarrett vs. Razor Ramon for the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania. The same video we saw on RAW.

Todd Pettengill now shows us how to order WrestleMania on PPV.

Shawn Michaels is now shown with a disinterested Pamela Anderson. Shawn says their careers will skyrocket after he wins the World Title at WrestleMania.

We now get the Shawn/Diesel video package we saw on RAW.

A Diesel music video is now shown.

An ad for the WWF Fan Festival airs.

We now see Lawler use his Royal Magistrator to a picture of Bret being helped backstage with his parents at Survivor Series. He turns Helen Hart into a witch then draws a stick figure to make fun of Bret’s artistic ability. And, they are heavily hinting at Bret vs. Lawler feuding again after the PPV.

Pettengill now voices over a video package to hype Undertaker vs. King Kong Bundy. The package was focused on the urn and the powers it might or might not hold as we saw the clip of Undertaker and Bundy at the Royal Rumble PPV. Pretty much all you can run in a package to hype this match since they’ve had no confrontations since.

We now hear comments from the All-Pro team as they all feel the bond with LT and are not afraid to brawl with The Corporation, with Chris Spielman joking about not having to worry about Jack Tunney suspending him. That’s a nice advantage to have over The Corporation in that they have nothing to lose here.

Back to the hosts as they once again discuss Bigelow/LT with Lawler saying that Bigelow cannot let his career get flushed down the toilet in losing to a football player. Lawler flat out says that Bigelow & The Corporation cannot afford to lose this match.

We get clips of the WrestleMania Workout at Times Square and saw Bigelow/LT brawl in the ring that led to all wrestlers at the workout getting involved as well. It was set to the “WrestleMania” song. A solid way to close the show and cool we saw some of the workout footage on TV.

Final Thoughts: All hype for WrestleMania XI here with no matches and recycled clips and packages. We saw some new stuff and had analysis and thoughts from the host but with a show built around LT vs. Bigeow and everything else fighting for scraps in terms of promotion, its not really a show you needed to see.
