August 28, 1989 Prime Time

Long time reader. I was flipping through the Prime Times on the Network and realized there is one from 8/28/1989. This seemed so odd to me, because that was the same night as SummerSlam. The whole show is weird with Gorilla in the studio with no posters up.

I was just wondering if you or the BODers have any insight as to why they ran this show. It seemed very un-Vince-like.
