I was watching a video online from JJ MCCullough about Anti-American sentiment from certain Canadians from 1800s thru today. He even showed clips from some Canadian politicians who have ran on that sentiment from back in the 80s.
Whereas the typical American really couldn't care less about Canada and think of it as sort of as America-lite.
It got me to thinking about the WWF US v Canada stuff in the 1997 and the Canadians were really anti-America/pro-Canada especially at Canadian Stampede.
So historically in your opinion, why have so many Canadians hated the USA? Could a USA v Canada wrestling angle work today?
Possibly, but the problem would be that WWE doesn't have any Canadian stars that fans are particularly invested in. Something like the UK v. NXT feud is a lot more viable now.
