Endgame To “Summer Of Punk”?

I was just watching some "Summer Of Punk" stuff from 2011 the other day. I can't believe that whole angle basically finished with a Triple H vs Kevin Nash match. Was that somehow the original endgame for the storyline, or was something else that was planned scrapped at the last minute?
There was no original endgame to it as far as I can tell. They were just flying by the seat of their pants and that's what we ended up with as a result.
