WWE Syndicated Shows

Any idea why the WWE got rid of nearly all their syndicated shows in the early 2000's, particularly Jakked/Metal? I always enjoyed those weekend programs that featured an abundance of squash matches, highlights of important stuff from Raw and Smackdown, and maybe 1 competitive "main event"
Because they didn't make money off them. Not much more to it.
