Was Randy Savage joining the nWo in early 1997 something that was planned out at the last minute? The whole thing never really made much sense, as Savage joined Sting in going silent and hanging out with him in the rafters before turning out of nowhere. It was like we were missing part of the story.
The missing part of the story is that his contract was up in late 1996 and they thought that his loss to Hogan at Halloween Havoc 96 might have been his last match if he went back to the WWF. So Savage was taken off TV for a while and then when he re-signed, he got the heel turn and push as a bonus. So yes, it was definitely not planned in advance or anything.
