Indies and Insanity: July 18, 2019

Honestly, I don’t know how I’m supposed to start a night thread when I’ve just dropped down a Goofy cartoon YT rabbit hole.

I’d like to thank user Bare End Corbin for teaching me a little about Japanese nomenclature.  Enjoying Mike’s G1 writeups — you should check them all out!  I’ll be keeping a tally of his stars to see who is Mike’s MVP of the G1.

Nats/Braves with a critical series starting tonight, so that’s where my eyes are.

As for you, I sincerely hope the show you’re going to is indoors because it’s HOT in the southeast — but here’s some highlights coming up!

So let’s look at the top names today…

  • FIP is hitting Ybor City tomorrow night for Heatstroke 2019!  World champ Anthony Henry… does not have a match on this card because reasons, but Jon Davis puts the secondary title on the line against Eddie Kingston in the main event!  Plus no less than FOUR tag team matches featuring The End, Ugly Ducklings, The Skulk, and more!
  • I gotta give credit to A-1 Wrestling for the SHOW OF THE WEEK, as on Sunday afternoon in Hamilton, ON, they will put on True North Strong — a show made up ENTIRELY of Canadian wrestlers!  Kobe Durst puts the big gold on the line against LuFisto!  Shane Sabre battles Calgary-born Davey Boy Smith Jr.!  Plus Ethan Page, RJ City, and more!
  • If you’re attending the Trenton Thunder game on Tuesday night, know that CHIKARA will have a few matches that night as well!  The most important one is a first-round contest in the Johnny Kidd Invitational, as Rory Gulak looks to repeat as champion, but he’ll have to get by Boomer Hatfield to do it!

But those are just the highlights!  If you know of more shows this weekend, let us know!

And now, your indie match of the week — from Black Label Pro in Indiana, it’s a six-way scramble with some of the biggest wrestler on the indie scene at the time (and Marko Stunt).  Stunt, PCO, Tom Lawlor, Brian Pillman II, Kevin Ku, and Kobe Durst face off! Enjoy!

Bring the insanity!
