Warrior retirement

By Scott Keith on 20 June 2019

In an industry where workers have a lot of trouble getting out, how was Jim Hellwig able to get by financially for so many years out of the wrestling business? I'm sure he made decent money in his WWF run, but I can't see him living for life on what was four full time WWF years. How was he able to stay away except for a few sporadic appearances while others still have to keep coming back for paydays?
Because he was incredibly smart with the tons of money he made on top, plus he was smart enough later to retain the rights to his own image and name so he could merchandise himself.
