Straight forward question this time: what spots, doesn't matter if it's a standard match or gimmicked, are overdone and need to be put aside for a while? I've got 2 in mind…
1. The "use the ladder by wearing it on your neck" three stooges routine. It looks dumb and never gets over. Done every ladder match with tons of people.
2. Tower of Doom spots. This one just needs to go away for a while and only busted out for important matches. It's almost as common as a lockup in matches involving 3-20 people.
The Tower of Doom always gets over, though. The main problem now is that it's become so ubiquitous as a wrestling spot that you actually have announcers (granted mainly Matt Striker) actually calling it THE TOWER OF DOOM SPOT. That is the kind of stupid shit that has to go.
My least favorite these days is more of a finish, but still bugs. Namely, when a champion is defending their title and gets hit with a bunch of moves and then kicks out of the challenger's finisher, before coming back to hit his own finisher without even a transition move. Like, have the agents never watched a wrestling match before to learn how building drama works?
