Indies and Insanity: April 11, 2019 Evening Thread

Playoff hockey!  Check your local listings for time and station.  I’m watching Washington/Carolina, myself.  And it’s not just the NHL; the Frozen Four (NCAA national championship) is on ESPN2!

ESPN has Masters coverage, with Round 1 going on right now.  I hear Tiger is doing Tiger things.

After the jump, let’s see what wrestling you can watch.

So yeah, last weekend was nuts, but things calm down to the usual amount, which is why this is back to a 7PM post.  Here’s what we got:

  • Tomorrow, AAW has their 15th anniversary show, Epic, in Chicago.  You want it now, but you can’t have it… until then.  (Sorry.)  Your main event is LAX and the Lucha Bros going at it for the tag gold, with DJ Z and Maxwell Jacob Friedman going for the secondary title.
  • CMLL Super Viernes is starting a 16-team tournament!  It’s the Torneo Increibles de Parejas, and Phase 1 is this show tomorrow night.  “Increibles de Parejas” roughly translates as “wacky tag partners who hate each other” in Scott-speak, and eight teams of such will take part in an elimination match to see which makes the final.  Your lightning match, meanwhile, is Volador Jr against Gilbert El Boricua (aka Mil Muertes).
  • Speaking of tournaments, it’s Best of the Best Time in CZW!  The 18th annual tournament (to be held Satuday night) has kept the bracket secret, but we can confirm two things: first, the field features Fred Yehi, Gary Jay, Mance Warner, B-Boy, David Starr, Anthony Greene, and more; and second, Warner has agreed that the winner of the tournament will be CZW champion!
  • Your PROMOTION OF THE WEEK is Alpha-1, who is putting on Here We Go Again up in Hamilton, ON on Sunday afternoon.  Kobe Durst defends the big gold in a triple threat match against Chris Dickinson and Brian Cage!  Ethan Page and MJF have a dog collar match!  The secondary title is on the line in a 9-person gauntlet!  Hornswoggle!  Josh Alexander!  Joey Ryan!  Allie Kat!  Rickey Shane Page!  The Space Pirates!  Lots of people!

Let’s go back to SmackDown for our Indie Match of the Week… well, sort of.  One of the Brooklyn Belles (Krissie) is East Coast indie star Kris Statlander.  And here she is in Limitless Wrestling in Maine taking on AEW signee Penelope Ford — enjoy!

Bring the insanity!
