Luger post Wreatlemania X

Was there ever any idea to have Bret defend against Luger in a high profile singles match post WMX? Or was his goose cooked by the time we got to 'Mania? And was Perfect too injured still to work a short program with Luger to continue their beef? Or was Perfect screwing Luger the payoff to their feud at WMIX?

Perfect was supposed to work a long program with Luger, but he messed up his back again and also suffered a foot injury, which led to him being out of wrestling for another 3 years. Luger wasn't touching the World title again.
