“Local Medical Facility”?

By Scott Keith on 24 March 2019

Is it true that when the WWE does an injury angle with a wrestler getting rushed out in an ambulance, they purposely say "local medical facility" instead of "emergency room" because they don't want fans calling or showing up at the local ER? I've heard this a bunch of times over the last several years, but this really doesn't seem right. I mean just saying "local medical facility" instead of "emergency room" won't stop some idiots from calling around and showing up in various hospitals around where that show is taking place. I always just thought it was typical Vince McMahon speak, I.E. instead of a "title shot" it's a "title opportunity", etc. Any idea?

It's mostly Vince-speak, yes. But it was mostly a holdover from when fans were much more passionate and would indeed bug hospitals for updates on their favorite guys.
