When the WWF launched Shotgun Saturday Night in early 1997, what were they hoping to accomplish with the show? Since it was right before the Attitude Era, was it supposed to be a sort of testing ground for a more risque product we would later see, what with the late night time-slot and on location at bars and nightclubs?
Yes, that was exactly the idea.
