The Jim Duggan interview from “Superstars” is shown.
Yokozuna w/ Mr. Fuji vs. Raven Clark
The announcers talk about the Bret Hart vs. Yokozuna title match at WrestleMania and how tough of a challenge it will be for the champion. Clark runs into a thrust kick as the announcers talk about the Superstars lunch during WrestleMania weekend. Yokozuna flattens Clark with an uranage and a leg drop as the announcers once again talk up Bret’s fighting champion stuff as Yokozuna puts Clark away with the Bonzai drop (2:16).
Thoughts: They continue to portray Yokozuna as an unstoppable monster heading into his WrestleMania match against Bret Hart.
Stenier Brothers vs. Dan Farren & White Shadow
So, this Farren is just some dude in a singlet and long hair. I presume the Shadow is Billy Anderson. Heenan talks about not liking the Steiner Brothers but does respect what they can do in the ring. Gorilla talks about the arena at Caesar’s looking like a Roman coliseum for WrestleMania as the Steiner’s beat down the Shadow. Farren tags in and Scott takes him down. We hear from The Headshrinkers with Afa in an insert promo as Afa promises his team will take the Steiners heads off as The Headshrinkers are hitting each other. Back to the match as Rick grounds Farren with a bodyscissors then the Steiners use a Doomsday DDT for the win (3:13).
Thoughts: They are really starting to hype up the Steiners/Headshrinkers match as two awesome teams facing against each other and as one of the more intriguing matches on the card.
WWF Special Report with Lord Alfred Hayes. Tatanka/Shawn Michaels then we hear from Shawn, who says at WrestleMania IX he is walking in the champion and will walk out the champion. Lord Alfred says the odds may be in favor of Tatanka, however.
“The Narcissist” Lex Luger vs. Bobby Young
The announcers hint that people might be dressed in togas at WrestleMania as Heenan thinks its stupid. Luger slams Young as we get some history talk before Heenan demands they talk about Luger. Gorilla wants to know what is on Luger’s wrist and how there is something going on with how he is knocking people out with a forearm shiver then Luger knocks Young out with the forearm smash for the win (1:40). After the match, Luger shoves Young outside then stands him up facing the mirror and taunts him.
Thoughts: Once again Luger’s forearm smash is questioned with Gorilla noting the band on his wrist might be causing guys to get knocked out.
We hear from Paul Bearer & The Undertaker as they tell Harvey Whippleman & Giant Gonzalez that Undertaker has in fact changed. Undertaker tells Gonzalez he must be held accountable for his actions then gives a warning that the next time he stares into Gonzalez’s eyes it will be six feet down into the eyes of a battered corpse.
Bob Backlund vs. Al Burke
Heenan says he would pay to see Undertaker vs. Gonzalez. The announcers talk about Backlund wanting to be champion again and to do that is getting on the WrestleMania card and beating someone. Gorilla says the Mega Maniacs response to Money Inc. is coming up next as Backlund works the arm of Burke then uses a Thesz Press for the win (2:11). After the match, Backlund offers a hand shake but Burke blows him off.
Thoughts: Looks like the announcers planted the seeds for a storyline so Backlund can get on the card at WrestleMania. They are still trying to push him as the old star coming back to win a title.
The Mega Maniacs interview from “Superstars” is shown.
WrestleMania Report. Same as Superstars.
Clip of Crush on the beach of Kona, HI as he crushes a pineapple with his bare hands to show us an example of what he will do to Doink at WrestleMania. He also said Doink looks like the pineapple too.
Doink the Clown vs. Joey Maggs
Doink hits a side suplex then ducks an enziguiri attempt and locks on a STF. We now hear from Doink in an insert promo asking Crush if he wants a Hawaiian Punch and will see him at WrestleMania then laughs. Doink stays in control and catches Maggs with a powerslam after an Irish whip sequence then locks on the stump puller for the win (2:12).
Thoughts: More hype for Crush vs. Doink at WrestleMania.
Next week, the Mega Maniacs will be here for an interview. Also in action are Shawn Michaels, Kamala, and Razor Ramon.
Final Thoughts: Nothing new here as all of the key segments came from “Superstars” as we are getting more WrestleMania hype as the show approaches.
