WCW post Starrcade 97

I’ve been thinking about the shitshow that was WCW Starrcade 97 and the drizzling shits that followed. Playing booker, let’s assume that Sting destroys Hogan as he should’ve. What would you have done to follow up in 98? What happens with the NWO? What do you do with Bret Hart? Who does Sting defend the title against and how long does he hold it? Where do you go with Goldberg and DDP? The Vanilla Midgets? I feel like with all that talent, WCW should’ve been able to hold their own with WWF/Austin. Just curious what kind of fantasy booking you would’ve liked to see in 98.
nWo breaks up and dumps Hogan, who turns babyface and feuds with the Outsiders. Bret Hart comes in claiming to still be WWF champion because he never lost it, builds to a "unification" match with Sting at Great American Bash. There's so many easy things they could have done and they just didn't.
