NWO Nitro?

Is it true that the NWO was supposed to take over Nitro beginning in January of 1998 while WCW wrestlers would be on the new Thunder show, but plans changed when the NWO bombed in the ratings taking over a Nitro in December of 1997 as a sort of "dry run" to the NWO Nitro? You would have thought they learned from the mess that was NWO Souled Out 1997.
That’s how the story goes, yes. WCW was never good at learning lessons.
