Impact, Indies, and Insanity: Thursday Night, October 11, 2018

Impact Wrestling presents the final show before Bound for Glory.  Up top is a six-man tag with Aries/Kross/Moose against Johnny/Edwards/Bahh.  There’s also a pretty good four-way with Jack Evans, Petey Williams, Puma King, and Trevor Lee.

Your NFL Game of the Week of the Day is Philly/NY Giants.  College football’s appetizer is a doozy, as Texas Tech takes on TCU in Big XII action.

After the jump, we look at the independent highlights.

A pretty big weekend for the indies, so let’s get to the big ones:

  • Action Wrestling is just underway right now in Tyrone, GA.  AJ Gray faces O’Shea Edwards, Marko Stunt makes his first appearance, and Gangrel main events against AC Mack.
  • AAW, normally a Chicago-based promotion, is in Austin, TX tomorrow night for a show they call Austin 10:12 (love it).  Trevor Lee defends the Heritage title against Rich Swann, ACH takes on Eddie Kingston, and former GFW talent Laredo Kid faces off against Jason Cade.
  • As always, CMLL has their Friday night show.  This one is headlined by Ultimo Guerrero facing Cibernetico winner Michael Elgin.  Also there will be Princesa Sugehit leading a women’s trios match, while Dave Finlay the Younger teams with Hijo de LA Park and Atlantis.
  • AIW will be in Lakewood, OH, on Saturday for Zero Cool.  The Production main event, putting their tag titles on the line against the Philly-Marino Experience.  Meanwhile, Ethan Page takes on AIW’s #1 contender Joshua Bishop and in women’s action, Allie Kat faces Zoey Skye.
  • CHIKARA is back at WrestleFactory in Philly for Piano Lessons Can Be Murder.  The Beast Warriors cash in their three points to challenge the Closers for the CHIKARA Tag Team Titles, while Solo Darling teams with the Colony to face the combined forces of Creatures of the Deep in 4v4 action.
  • Speaking of long-standing promotions, we have CZW running Saturday night with Better Than Our Best in Voorhees, NJ.  Maxwell Jacob Friedman defends the CZW title against David Starr, while the next challenger will be decided when Mance Warner and Rickey Shane Page face off in an Anything Goes match.  Meanwhile, Drago — yes, the one from Lucha Underground — will be in action against John Silver.
  • Pro Wrestling EVE will be in London on Saturday night, and the only match they’ve announced is Emi Sakura vs Kay Lee Ray, with Sakura getting a future title shot if she wins.  However, they’ve also said Command Bolshoi will be in action.
  • The highlight of the weekend is OTT’s anniversary show in Dublin on Saturday night.  WALTER defends the big gold against Will Ospreay!  Bandido/Flamita/Strickland vs Naito/EVIL/SANADA!  KUSHIDA vs Tomohiro Ishii!  Minoru Suzuki vs Timothy Thatcher!  But why stop at one show, because Sunday night they’re running Defiant 2, with Jordynne Grace vs Kay Lee Ray and a preshow exhibition of Bandido vs. Strickland!
  • Then again, maybe Rev Pro is more your fancy, and NJPW has you covered there, as Sunday in Brixton is Global Wars UK!  Suzuki/Ishii is for the Rev Pro championship, while underneath you have Chris Brookes vs. Naito, Starr vs. KUSHIDA, Zack Sabre Jr vs. Hirooki Goto, and Thatcher/WALTER vs. EVIL/SANADA in a battle of way too many capital letters!

Let’s bring the insanity!
