Scott, in the observer recaps, you have a throw away line about it was dusty, not Bischoff, that didn’t let the Blondes become one of the next big things? What was that about? For years, everyone just assumed Bischoff was the reason behind it? Was it because back then Austin and Pillman were seen as flair’s boys?
It’s a bit complicated, but it’s less that "Dusty didn’t like the Blonds" and more along the lines of "Dusty wanted to push Austin to the top as a single and intentionally sabotaged the team to create a self-fulfilling prophecy and get there.". At least that’s what I’ve pieced together from interviews and DVDs that cover the subject.
