Cost of working in Japan

Typically if you’re a star that New Japan wants, they pay pretty damn well. Not as good as the glory days when Brody was making $10k per week, and not as good as WWE pays comparable stars. But if you’re a midlevel guy like Kenny Omega, you’ve got way more opportunities for upward mobility overseas. AJ and the Club were making damn good money, but not WWE money. I think that Japanese promoters have traditionally taken care of hotels and travels and such. They definitely pay airfare.
