Tye Dillinger too popular?

> Read your NXT Takeover The End review, I really enjoyed the show as well – I agree that Almas’ debut was rather lackluster, and as you said, a lot of that had to be due to Tye just being too popular with the crowd. Tye has really come into his own with the Perfect 10 gimmick, despite being the resident fodder for newly debuting talent. CJ Parker used to fill that role but he was never over like that, overshadowing the talent they were trying to make look good.

> Is it time for Tye to finally ascend in NXT after being such a company guy and succeeding despite all the losses? Could he be a main roster guy? Or is it a phenomenon localized to Full Sail and Tye’s spot is as a good hand getting the young kids trained and over? Personally, I’d like to see him climb the ladder, I think he’s earned it.

I think he’s ready for callup as an opening match guy. Not everyone needs or wants to be Steve Austin and having a goofy gimmick like Perfect 10 or No Way Jose is something that’s been lacking in the ultra serious direction that the product has moved. I just don’t want poopy jokes in the main event angles unless it’s the Rock making them. Put Enzo and Cass one brand as openers and Dillinger / Jose on the other and you’re golden.
