> So, for all the egomaniacs, paranoid delusionists and outright arseholes to go through wrestling… who was the most giving? HHH is excoriated for killing the careers of many, but who’s the opposite example? Someone who MADE more people than they killed?
> Easy answer/ DQ #1 – Hogan, Flair & Cena: beat the champ, become a big deal. That’s a wrestling staple, so (hopefully not getting too complicated a question) I don’t count this. Even with the best of intentions, the Champ has to make opponents credible.
> Less easy answer: Macho Man Randy Savage. He let Honky hit him in the head with a guitar, and had to be *saved* by Hogan. Hogan AGAIN saved him to end ‘Mania #4.He let Jake put a snake on his arm; and let Uuuuuultimate Wohyah kick out of 5! of his big elbow finishers. Was there ever a more giving guy to make it to the top?
I’d have to say Sting was right up there as well. He was working programs with friggin Cactus Jack when he was champion!
Also, Ted Dibiase was never champ, but he elevated anyone he worked with. Exhibit A: Summerfest 91 against Virgil. VIRGIL!
