NXT Overrated?

Scott, is it just me, or is NXT a bit overrated? I’m not saying it’s a bad product, but I don’t understand what’s so special about it. Aside from Bayley, whose story arc was genuinely moving, I’m just not seeing it.
First of all, the babyfaces are almost all boring. They almost all act politely and quietly follow the rules set forth by Regal. The latest face to get a major push is Apollo Crews, but aside from his incredible athleticism, what is his actual character – that he’s really happy and excited? Also, I understand that this next issue is due to the fact that it’s a developmental brand, but there are almost zero interesting promos on any of the shows. These guys, champion Finn Balor included, just can’t talk, so instead we get endless backstage promos that are all generic. What people really keep going on about is their logical booking, but isn’t that setting the bar pretty damn low? A show is supposed to make sense; that shouldn’t warrant praise. In fact, it seems to me that NXT is just a merely decent wrestling show that gets unduly propped up because it exists at a time when WWE is at mid-90’s level of illogical booking and poor storytelling.

Well, as they say, in the land of the blind the one-eyed man is king.

Also, if Mr. Regal gave me orders, I’d politely follow them as well because he could kick my ass.
