So I’m watching ‘Flight’ right now on Amazon Instant Watch and cannot get over just how incredibly good it is. It’s powerful without being up its own ass, and if you’ve ever known someone with an addiction, especially to booze, so much of it will hit home and give you the chills of “Oh wow, this movie gets it”.
This movie was, of course, directed by Robert Zemeckis, of Back to the Future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Back to The Future I-III, Forest Gump, and about a half dozen other entertaining flicks. All he does is make movies you stumble across on basic cable and cannot stop watching.
What is your first Robert Zemeckis movie? What’s your first memory of say, Forest Gump, Back to The Future, or Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
I’ll share my Who Framed Roger Rabbit one – I just got home from the packie with poppa Meekin at the age of..9? I saw Who Framed Roger Rabbit was on TV. I was excited – only to find out it was on Showtime. I was so bummed. My dad offered to let us Rent it from Blockbuster – offering to make a rare second trip out.
They didn’t have it.
We come home, I was bummed. What do I see on channel 14? Who. Framed. Mother.Fucking. Roger. Rabbit. It was also the first night I ever had Clam Dip. Funny these things work. I had never seen it but knew of it and had NO idea it would combine Donald and Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse, and do so many awesome things with animation in the real world, and vice versa. What a trip.
What say you, Blog Otters?
