Ryback Injury Update

Ryback has been diagnosed with a staph infection and as a result, will not be able to wrestle at the Battleground PPV.


TNA Telling Some Talent the Company Will Survive?

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, some of the TNA wrestlers have been told that the overseas television money will help keep the company afloat while they shop around for a new U.S. television deal. Those were also told that the company will survive because they trimmed down a lot of the big contracts and got rid of a lot of the higher paid wrestlers and that the company business model is changing.

Chelsea, the newest member of the show, injured her ankle during a challenge that was taped for this coming Tuesday’s episode.

Dolph Ziggler Update

PWInsider has confirmed that Ziggler has in fact signed a new deal with the WWE. Also, the reason that Ziggler was written off of TV is that he will begin filming for the new WWE Studios film “6:42” this week in Vancouver. The filming is scheduled to last about four weeks long.


WWE RAW Ratings

RAW this past Monday night drew 3.54 million viewers. Here is the hourly breakdown:

8pm: 3.43 million viewers

9pm: 3.51 million viewers

10pm: 3.65 million viewers


WWE Announces Date For Second Quarter Conference Call

The call is scheduled for Thursday July 30th at 11am EST. The WWE will be releasing their Network subscriber number during this call as well.

Backstage Reaction to the Diva’s Segment

WWE officials were reported to have been “absolutely thrilled” with how the divas segment came off on RAW. The feeling was that this division has turned the corner. The initial plan was for this to happen was to do this closer to SummerSlam but with the U.S. Women’s Soccer team winning this week and the attention they have been receiving the decision was made to move the plans up.


Kane (Storyline) Injury Update

Last night, reported that Kane had sustained a broken right ankle due to Brock Lesnar’s attack last night.

Former TNA X Division Champion Tries out for the WWE

Seiya Sanada was at the tryouts that took place in Japan during the WWE’s tour of the country last week.

TNA and Ring of Honor Ratings

Ratings for both shows were up this week. TNA’s combined audience, for the first-run and replay of the show were its highest since the show moved to Wednesday nights. Here are the combined ratings:

TNA: 453,000

Ring of Honor: 262,000

Who Produced the WWE Network “Beast in the East” Special?

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, John Laurinaitis produced the show as he was the head agent on the tour. Laurinaitis also came up with the idea to use streamers and for women dressed in kimonos to present flowers to Balor and Owens, like they did for big Japanese matches in the past.

Fan Hit By a Piece of the Car Door Thrown by Brock Lesnar Last Night on RAW

A fan was struck by a piece of the door from the Cadillac that Lesnar destroyed last night on RAW. Fans in attendance noted that WWE Security and medical personnel attending to the fan before bringing him backstage. The fan was back in his seat after that and appeared to be fine.

Update on Potential WWE/WWN Relationship

It has been reported that the WWE is indeed getting serious about making a deal with WWN. The word is that the WWE is looking to make a low six-figure investment in WWN to help them run more shows and sign more talents. The WWE would presumably have access to the talent they want without worrying about them already appearing on National TV or having signed away their licensing.

Dolph Ziggler Contract Update

Ziggler was reported to have received a new contract offer a few weeks ago but did not sign, opening up a lot of speculation. The belief is he will still re-sign.

WWE High on Independent Talent

It has been reported that the WWE is very high on Rich Swann and will likely offer him a Developmental Deal in September. It was also reported that the WWE is expected to offer more Developmental Deals after SummerSlam as they want more talent to report to NXT in the Fall.

How Much is Talent Getting Paid to Work for GFW?

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, he was told that most of the talent working for Jeff Jarrett are getting paid between $300-500, with a few of the legends getting more.

Top Matches for WrestleMania 32 Already Planned?

It has been reported that Vince McMahon has already thought up the top six matches for WrestleMania 32. Details of those six matches are scarce but it had been reported that Sting vs. Undertaker was not one of those matches as Vince is negative on the match for some reason and that Daniel Bryan is not included either. Despite no knowledge of his opponent it has reported that the match planned for Cena is “almost a lock” to happen. Also, a HHH & Stephanie vs. Rock & Ronda Rousey match is planned but Dana White has to okay Rousey appearing on the show.

TNA Morale At An All-Time Low?

It was reported that the morale at TNA’s TV tapings this past week were at an all-time low. Talent was upset over being kept in the dark about Jeff Jarrett’s return and the production staff were upset over learning that after working a PPV and TV tapings in back-to-back days that they will not be paid for the previous set of TV tapings until 7/15 at the earliest. It was also reported that the company was more focused on trying to find out which member of the production staff talked to Brian Fritz from the “Sporting News” about being behind on pay than anything else.
