–The WWF blimp is shown hovering over Struthers High School, where tonight’s show is taking place, and Bob Backlund is seen giving a campaign speech, telling students that if they do not get an education the government is going to put them back in slavery. Vince McMahon does not reveal that the show is actually coming from a high school, though, as he says it is from an arena.
–McMahon and Jerry Lawler are on commentary and they are live from Struthers, Ohio. According to historyofwwe.com the show drew a sellout crowd of 1,450 fans. McMahon, like a good promoter, makes sure to mention that the last episode did a record rating. Lawler gloats that he has tricked Bret Hart into signing up for a “kiss my foot” match.
–In a video package to hype tonight’s main event IRS and Bam Bam Bigelow cut promos against each other. IRS hits a home run by threatening to get a lien of Bigelow’s tattoos.

–Todd Pettengill interviews Bret Hart, who says that he will continue to prove that he is “the best there is, best there was, and the best there ever will be.” He wishes happy Mother’s Day to his mother in Canada and says he looks forward to taking care of Jerry Lawler after he beats Hakushi in the opening match.

–Jim Ross and Todd Pettengill recap the Diesel-Bam Bam Bigelow match for the WWF title that occurred on Monday Night RAW, as well as how Bigelow turned face after the bout when he was beaten down by the Million Dollar Corporation.

–Ross and Pettengill announce that the 1-2-3 Kid was supposed to face Jeff Jarrett for the Intercontinental title on today’s show but he is injured. As a result, Bob Holly will face Jarrett instead. Jarrett says that he will show Holly how great he is, while Holly promises to cross the finish line.
–A video package hypes tonight’s main event for the WWF title between Diesel and Bam Bam Bigelow. Vince McMahon plays up that Sid is not happy that Bigelow is getting a title shot prior to In Your House.

–Todd Pettengill recaps the end of last week’s main event between Razor Ramon and Tatanka, which resulted in a double count out and saw a brawl between both participants, the 1-2-3 Kid, and King Kong Bundy.
–Todd Pettengill and Gorilla Monsoon are doing commentary, with both of them still in Lowell, Massachusetts. They allow Pettengill to do the lead play-by-play duties for the show, which is really puzzling.
–McMahon promises to show footage of Sid’s attack on Shawn Michaels despite the fact that such footage has already aired on Superstars and The Action Zone. He also hypes tonight’s six-man tag match between Bret Hart, Bob Holly, and the 1-2-3 Kid and Hakushi, Owen Hart, and Yokozuna. Owen cuts a brief promo about how the heel team will squash the babyfaces, with Yokozuna getting in his usual “BANZAI!”
