Bam Bam for HOF?

Hey Scott,

A break from all the Roman Reigns stuff: Is there anything preventing Bam Bam Bigelow from being posthumously inducted into the hall of fame? He definitely passes the Koko B Ware test, so why not throw him in? Especially considering how his in ring career was finished off by saving children from a freaking fire, wouldn't that be a nice feel good moment for a ceremony?

I think that on a professional level, Bigelow would totally qualify for the WWE Hall of Fame, no question.  That being said, he kind of burned bridges on the way out in 95 and if he's not on the "no no" list for the Hall, I'm pretty sure he's at least on the "No one is probably going to bring him up" list.  i just don't see it, sorry.

Not making a difference in the HOF?

What's your opinion on Rikishi's Hall of Fame induction? Yes? No?

I think he is deserving. Aside from the Rikishi run, he's had a long, successful career as a member of the Samoan Swat Team, the Headshrinkers, and as "Makin' a Difference" Fatu and the Sultan (Ok, maybe we can omit "successful" from the last two).

However, what I find interesting is his HOF induction video package mentions none of these. I presume this will be corrected during the HOF ceremony.

However, if it isn't, are we to assume it's the character getting inducted and not the wrestler? Is "Rikisihi" alone worthy of a HOF induction? As well, if they are going to go down this road of inducting the character/gimmick, should we begin a write-in campaign to have Rick Bognar accept the induction for the Razor Ramon character? He was the last person to play it, after all.

I have no strong opinions on the Rikishi induction, although I agree it's weird that they're specifically inducting the character and not the person.  It kinds of makes a stronger case if you add in Samoan Swat Team, but given the "Everything that happened in the Attitude era shit bricks of gold and pissed money" brainwashing we've been getting as of late, it makes sense.

Chris Benoit in the HOF?

I know this subject has been beaten to death – forgive me the bad pun – but I'd like to know you're opinion on Chris Benoit and the Hall of Fame. My question isn't whether WWE is going to induct him (I'm not THAT naîve), what I want to know is if you think he SHOULD? Many Benoit marks, not only claim that he should be inducted, since the WWE HOF celebrates the talent and contributions to the biz, and shouldn't be a "trial" for people's mistakes, outside the biz; but also because people like Mike Tyson is in (because os his rapes accusations). I think this is bullshit, but I would very like to know your opinion on the subject as a general.

Thank you and keep up with the good work!

I think he totally warrants inclusion on merit, yes.  However, it would be such a political nightmare that clearly he should never actually be inducted.  Mike Tyson's demons and Benoit's demons are in two totally different circles of hell.
