Monday Night Open Mic

Howdy Blog O’Doomers!

Hope my American friends are enjoying Memorial Day and the worldwide audience here at the BoD are enjoying their Monday.

The dog days of RAW continues with another week of building to Money in the Bank. Meanwhile most of us will probably be watching Game 7 of Warriors-Rockets or Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final between Vegas and Washington.

Roman had an odd exchange with a grown man that claimed on Twitter the big dog was being mean to a 10-year-old and…I believe Roman to be honest…the old guy was probably being an ass clown. If you’re an adult and you see a wrestler out (and if you live in my neck of the woods where 75% of the WWE roster lives) and they are eating with their families…give them a little courtesy and space. Seriously.

Howdy Blog O’Doomers!

I hope everyone had as great of a weekend as I did. Most of you that have been around the board know that I celebrated my son’s graduation from high school love the weekend and I’ve run through the gambit of emotions as a parent. Those of you that have older kids know that those 17-18 years go by fast and those of you with younger kids enjoy it because it moves fast.

The big news in rasslin’ entertainment is that Fox is willing to put a ring on Smackdown for about a billion on their broadcast channel. Which means NBC/Universal will be paying out the yang to keep RAW. And with money like that being dished out I guarantee if you didn’t think the writers gave a rats behind about your thoughts on the product before, you can be certain of it now.

Team Cenabella is whole again after their totally-legit breakup

RAW might be live…IDAF because I’m watching the Lightning-Caps and Cavs-Celtics tonight. Or just bingeing the rest of Cobra Kai

I hope you had a good weekend and are enjoying your Monday. RAW is in England tonight I think so I don’t know if it’s live or not and I probably won’t watch anyway.

Ronda Rousey was named at Nia Jax’s next challenger for the RAW Women’s title because of her impressive string of victories. Here was how they set it up.

NBA playoffs tonight is the long awaited start to the Rockets-Warriors series while Vegas and Winnipeg get after it in Game 2 of the NHL Western Conference Final. Meanwhile, what the hell Lightning?!?!

Happy Monday!! I didn’t watch Backlash, probably won’t watch Backlash and from the sounds of things I’ll be better for it. RAW is live tonight and when the most exciting thing I can think of is Jason Jordan’s return than we’ve definitely hit the lean months of the promotion…and that’s no offense to Jordan, who was actually starting to find something when he got hurt.

As for the non-wrestling stuff. LeBron and the James Gang continue their one-sided NBA feud with Toronto, still refusing to put the young Raptors over just once. NHL Playoffs have the Penguins and Predators fighting for their Stanley Cup lives in separate games. Meanwhile Boston is eliminated…HA!

What else is on? Umm Jeopardy starts its two-week teachers tournament. The Voice’s never-ending season continues and I dunno check your local listings for the rest.

Hope you are all having a good Monday. Tonight I am watching my beloved Tampa Bay Lightning fight for their playoff lives against those evil bastards from Boston.

RAW is live in Montreal coming off of the Oil Rumble, which is five hours I’ll probably never watch.

Outside of the wrestling there’s a second hockey game between San Jose and Vegas late and the Boston-Philadelphia NBA series starts tonight.

It’s the go home show for the Greatest Rumble Ever (a.k.a Oil Rumble) and surely there will be a good bit of hype for that, especially around the Brock-Roman cage match. Apparently Brock will be at RAW tonight doing something. Like most people I thought Smackdown probably got the better of the shake-up and would appear to be the more interesting show coming out of it.

Congrats to the Rock for adding a third daughter to his world. She looks absolutely precious.

Massive NHL playoff game tonight between the Bruins and Leafs, the winner of that series gets to play my Tampa Bay Lightning. Two NBA playoff games tonight.

It’s mid-April, Wrestlemania is gone and hopefully we’re that much closer to normal. RAW is live tonight with the first night of the Superstar Shakeup. My predictions for Smackdown people to move over are: Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Baron Corbin, The Usos, Bobby Roode, another lower-card tag team (maybe Breezango, maybe the Shining Stars), Randy Orton and Jinder Mahal. I guess I could put Cena here too whenever he’s around

Raw to Smackdown: Bayley, Sasha, The Revival, Finn Balor, Gallows & Anderson (yep the entire Bullet Club on Smackdown) and Rollins to counter Mahal leaving. So the U.S. title and I-C title switch places.

I mean they could go all out and move the big stars and programs over but I don’t see that happening for some reason.

Anyway People has a story on the big Cena-Bella implosion and the source basically blames Cena for being a self-centered douche. I bet the source is Big Johnny. He looks like the type.

Well it’s come and gone. Wrestlemania week is sort of like a tornado, it makes noise, it may damage some property and when it goes everyone is left wondering exactly what happened and what they saw.

FWIW I enjoyed most of the show, the first two hours were phenomenal and if you combine that with the three overs of Takeover New Orleans it was a five-hour stretch of amazing wrestling. The second half of Wrestlemania was not as good but the booking left us talking so mission accomplished and the blog did good traffic numbers so everyone wins!

Best five matches I saw this weekend

1) Gargano-Ciampa
2) Charlotte-Asuka
3) N.A Title Ladder match
4) I-C Title three-way
5) Black-Almas

The mixed tag match and Dusty Rhodes triple threat just missed the cut.

Tonight is the RAW after Wrestlemania, which I used to love and now I hate because it seems to have went from being cute, silly fun to hijacked by assholes who like to say “fuck” on live TV. Good for them I suppose.

NHL is off until playoffs begin Wednesday. NBA is in the final week of the regular season. Andre the Giant documentary debuts tomorrow!

Wrestlemania XXXIV Closing Thread (10 p.m.-close)

One final howdy to you Blog O’Doomers that have stuck around all night.

We’re down to the final thread, unless this thing goes past midnight. Regardless of what’s happened it’s been a heck of a show and that could be good or bad.

Keep it here for the upcoming review. Scott should have his done not too long after the show goes off the air. Read it and then get some sleep.

Wrestlemania XXXIV Thread Hour #3 (9 p.m.)

What up Blog O’Doomers!

I don’t know about you but this show has just ZOOMED by. I mean it’s hard to believe the thing started at 5 p.m. ET isn’t it?

Well hitting the midway point on the main card and from this spot on end everything is serious. These are the matches that draw the big bucks. This where the Wrestlemania moments happen. Right now, this hour. If you don’t watch any other hour of Wrestlemania make sure to watch THIS HOUR! (I think).

Wrestlemania XXXIV Thread Hour #2 (8 p.m.)

Good to see you once again Blog O’Doomers!’

We’re like four hours in already and you guys are hanging around and going strong. You’re such troopers, all of you. That pre-game and 7 p.m. hour is really just to wet your appetite because everyone knows the real stuff doesn’t happen until after 8 p.m.

Well now we are about to hit the meat of the card so grab another slice or another drink if need be. I’ll see ya in an hour.

Wrestlemania XXXIV Hour #1 Thread (7 p.m.)

Howdy again Blog O’Doomers!

Well that was eventful pre-game and what about that Battle Royale (or Royales). Like whoa!

Of course it’s time for the real deal and Wrestlemania XXXIV comes live to you from the Mercedes Benz Superdome (or Silverdome if you’re Hogan) and we’re ready for what should be a card that may last 4-5…possibly six hours. There is no limit to how long this 14-match card can go. But who cares, it’s Wrestlemania and that’s all that matters!

So I hope you ordered that pizza or grabbed that bucket of popcorn because it’s gonna be a long night.
