Monday Night Open Mic

Howdy Blog O’Doomers!

It’s the go-home episode of RAW before we hit Wrestlemania XXXIV and you can read the previews around the inter webs to see what kind of show they have planned. I expect them to hit all the final notes and solidify the matches remaining.

As for Wrestlemania Sunday threads. We’re probably going to stick with the hourly threads starting with the pre-game and through the fifth (!!) hour of the show.

Other viewing includes the Men’s basketball national championship between Villanova and Michigan.

We have just three RAWs (and smackdowns) remaining before Wrestlemania! Will we get the long-awaited Brock-Roman face-to-face tonight? What are your thoughts on this storyline to build to this match? Is it working for you? Is it working for Roman?

Tonight’s show will feature the Ultimate Deletion between Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt. Also expect more build to Wrestlemania. Braun Strowman will be facing The Bar at Wrestlemania and apparently he’ll need a tag partner. And will this Cena-Undertaker thing actually happen. And what about this Miz-Rollins-Balor thing and this Women’s Battle Royale thing that’s not at all about the Fabulous Moolah.

Congratulations to Mark Henry, 2018 WWE Hall of Famer. He’ll be the first official wig-splitter in the Hall.

10 NBA games, Five NHL games, other stuff on TV too. Enjoy!

Tuesday Night Fights Thread

Howdy Blog O’Doomers!

Even though I don’t get paid for Tuesdays I want you guys to have your well-deserved night thread. We’ve got Smackdown, 205 Live and Mixed Match on the rasslin’ side.

On the sports non-entertainment side there’s all kinds of college basketball with the First Four, the NIT and some other rag-ass tournament.

There’s NFL free agency where we can all laugh at the Vikings or 11 NBA games and 7 NHL games to talk about. Go socialize!

All right so we’re done with these filler Network Specials and it’s time to finally get on with the Road to Wrestlemania and all that it entails. The big news is that Jeff Hardy was arrested for a DWI over the weekend. Not sure what fallout, if any, will happen with that. I doubt it changes any of the current plans.

Otherwise I expect some sort of build to take place tonight on RAW. Maybe a that Brock-Roman face-to-face we’ve been promised would be a nice way to start. Also the RAW Women’s and Tag champions need a match. Plus God forbid we go a show without Cena begging to be in Wrestlemania.

Four NBA games, Eight NHL games tonight. NCAA tournament starts tomorrow!

Give congratulations to your newest Hall of Famer…Hillbilly Jim…He seems like a nice enough guy and frankly why the hell not. RAW continues the Road to Wrestlemania tonight. Maybe Brock Lesnar will show up if he didn’t work himself into too much of a sweat after his 35-second cameo last night in Chicago.

Bunch of other stuff is happening. I’m late for a meeting.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and are enjoying the start of the week. Elimination Chamber was held last night and the road to Wrestlemania will have a main event of Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar. Alexa Bliss also won her chamber match and has a opponent TBA depending on what Asuka does.

Lots of names being teased tonight for RAW, Rousey and Lesnar appear to be confirmed while Cageside Seats says Kane is in the house.

Five NHL games tonight and 10 or 11 NBA games. Season debut for The Voice and a tribute to Mister Rogers neighborhood for those searching out alternative programming.

I hope you all had a great weekend and a good start to the week! We have come to another edition of RAW as we continue the road to Wrestlemania. Among the matches announced is a 7-man gauntlet featuring all the participants in the upcoming Elimination Chamber as well as a six-woman tag probably featuring some mixture of Sasha, Bayley, Asuka or like Dana Brooke against some mixture of Absolution, Nia Jax and Alexa.

Apollo has gotten rid of the Crews

Three NHL games, NBA is on All-Star Break and of course there is plenty of Olympics (Go…COUNTRY!)

I hope you all had a fine weekend doing whatever you did whether it was for recreation or out of necessity. It’s Monday night which means the road to Wrestlemania continues along with the build to the Elimination Chamber, the only match that was announced at the time of this writing is the last-chance 4-way between Matt Hardy, Finn Balor, Bray Wyatt and Apollo Crews for the final spot in the Elimination Chamber that Roman Reigns is going to win.

Otherwise they will probably have something for Ivory since she’s being inducted into the Hall of Fame. I was actually expecting Molly to get the nod since she did the Rumble but I’m sure she’ll be there next year.

Beyond that there are six NBA games, three NHL games and not much Top 25 basketball although UConn women play Louisville in a No. 1 vs. No. 4. There’s also the Olympics and whatever events they have now like doubles Luge or dance skating or whatever. Let me know when the Men’s hockey tournament starts.  Not sure what else is on but TVGuide.com probably has your hookup, holla if you hear me.

Hope you are enjoying to Coliseum Video content dump but maybe you’ll take a few hours away from Supertape ’88 to watch Raw tonight as they continue the Road to Wrestlemania and the build to the upcoming Elimination Chamber match. We got EC eliminations between Roman-Bray and a 3-way with Strowman, Elias and Cena.

Talk about this or the NHL (4 games), NBA (7 games), college basketball (lotta games) or relive the Super Bowl and bask in the Patriots misery.

….and we’re officially to the Road to Wrestlemania!

You know I’m going to say that was a decent little Network Special last night. Both of the Rumbles were good enough and that was over half the show so even if the undercard was not very good they’re usually just window dressing for the Rumbles.

So with that being said tonight starts the slow climbs to Wrestlemania 34 in New Orleans. We need to find a challenger for Brock Lensar and I’m assuming it will be determined at Elimination Chamber so we need some qualifying matches, three of which will happen tonight (Matt Hardy vs. Elias; Cena vs. Balor; Strowman vs. Kane). Roman Reigns is apparently getting his IC-title rematch to presumably close the book on the program with the Miz so he can move on. There will also be some fallout from the women’s Rumble and maybe we’ll get a promo of some sort from Ronda Rousey but if her ESPN interview was any indication, she’s got a way to go with the promos. And Jonathan Coachman returns and will be part of the broadcast team.

If you were wondering how long each interval lasted in the men’s Rumble, look no further than Cageside Seats who had the breakdown. If you felt like a few intervals last close to three minutes…you’re right!

If you don’t want to talk about wrestling you can ask how Blake Griffin didn’t add a no-trade clause in his new contract because I’m sure he didn’t sign a big deal to end up playing for the Detroit Pistons.

Six NBA games tonight, NHL is finishing up their All-Star break. New episodes of The Bachelor, The Resident, The Wall, The Supergirl, The Kevin Can’t Wait and The Man vs. Food among others.

Well tonight is the 25th anniversary show of RAW, which *Schiavone mode on* may be the biggest night in the history of our sport (entertainment) *Schiavone mode off*. Shawn Michaels was on ESPN promising MAJOR stuff and of course HHH, Steph and New Day did promotion on the Tonight Show and coaxed Jimmy Fallon into showing up. I would expect every big name past and present  ‘cept Rock (probably shooting a movie) and Hogan (because racism). Hopefully it’s a fun, eventful night.

Oh yeah, Enzo REALLY fucked up this time and is suspended. Now WWE can either scrap 205 or reboot it and screw it up again.

Six NHL games with my slumping Lightning and the really slumping Blackhawks on NBCSN

Nine NBA games, Heat-Rockets and Timberwolves-Clippers seem interesting.

There’s other stuff too.
