So *I* saw the Flair documentary…a couple of times actually and it’s fine. We all know most of the story and I don’t think it revealed anything new but it was well done. I laughed knowing the reaction that some of you would have when Stephanie showed up on the screen about an hour and 20 minutes into it knowing you couldn’t go 90 minutes without her showing up and ruining everything.

RAW is all about the Survivor Series go home tonight and Roman Reigns is returning. It seems like Survivor Series will be four hours this year¬†which is a surprise to no one. I’m guessing Wrestlemania will start at noon in 2018 and last 12 hours total.

Dolphins-Panthers Monday Night game is rather underwhelming so some might opt for the playoff round of The Voice or watch Dancing With the Stars on ABC or The Big Bang Theory. Whatever floats your boat really. AMC has the second part of Robert Kirkman’s documentary on comics with the focus being on DC Comics tonight.

In other news, Jack Swagger signed with Bellator MMA and Neville may be returning to the WWE soon.

Quick proposal guys…separate thread for the ESPN Ric Flair documentary? Separate from the 205 Live/Smackdown thread? Let me know what you think because everyone’s got their own tastes and a 30-for-30 based around one of wrestling’s greatest personalities might need separate discussion.

Otherwise RAW is taped from London. Spoilers make it sound like a decent show, which makes sense because they can edit out the garbage. Packers-Lions are your Monday Night Game. All the other usual Monday night fare on the networks. Light NBA schedule (3 games) and six games on the NHL side.

For alternative viewing HBO debuts their Rolling Stone Magazine documentary tonight and PBS has a documentary on John Coltrane for those of you that love music and music history.

Happy Monday. That was a…different Network special last night. Nothing says “keeping an eye to the future” like having Kane run roughshot over the entire face team and chokeslam Braun into a crash pad. I don’t get the fixation with the guy or why Braun needs to lower himself to run an angle with him that he’ll surely have to sell more offense than he should. Braun already had his feud with an aging vet and Big Show did a damn good job of putting him over. Kane can’t put him over. Braun would have to sell far too much to make Kane look like a threat.

If they HAVE to use Kane why not let Jason Jordan suplex the hell out of him, he could use the good vibes. Or send Kane to Smackdown and let Rusev get some positive results against him.

Anyway RAW is live tonight but Eagles-Washington is on MNF and probably more interesting. Light NHL schedule tonight but a full slate of NBA with undefeated Memphis traveling to undefeated Houston as the highlight game.

All the other usual Monday fare is on and if you want something GOOD to watch “The Princess Bride” is on Sundance at 9 p.m. ET!

We got a TLC take-home RAW tonight and there isn’t much to this card outside of the tremendous 4-on-3 main event. The down side to the match is it ties up the I-C and tag titles and with Brock taking some time off from his 6-minute matches, this is going to be a lot of filler.

Outside of that there’s Game 3 of the ALCS between Houston and the Yankees. Monday Night Football between the Titans and Colts and one game on the NHL schedule as my Lightning travel to Detroit to face the Red Wings.

New episodes of The Voice, Dancing With the Stars, Big Bang Theory, Supergirl, etc. etc.

“Somewhere, somehow, somebody must have kicked you around some.
Tell me why you want to lay there, revel in your abandon.
Honey, it don’t make no difference to me baby, everybody has to fight to be free.”

I just want the summer of 2016 back. We all deserve a full re-do at one point in life. Anyway there’s RAW on live and it’s going to battle against a Washington-Chiefs Monday night game.

Also on tonight is a plethora of new programming from Dancing with the Stars, The Voice, Big Bang Theory, Lucifer, The Good Doctor, Kevin Can Wait, etc. etc.

In other news Bradley Cooper is apparently being offered the main role in a Vince McMahon biopic.

I am wondering if there is a planned tribute on RAW tonight for the killing of Braun Strowman’s career? Ha. Just kidding, RAW never thinks that far ahead. Besides he’d better lay down for Curt Hawkins before he leaves!

Anyway it’s post-No Mercy. Seems like Scott liked it enough (two ****+ and one ***1/2 is pretty much a thumbs up) but the rest of you had a sour taste in your mouth after Brock’s clean-as-a-whistle victory over Braun. Luckily for you the ratings for tonight’s show will suck going against a Dallas Cowboys MNF game and Dancing with the Stars.

In other news Jeff Hardy will be on the shelf for a bit with a torn rotator cuff and Cesaro probably won’t work tonight because he’s going to have some form of oral surgery tomorrow after busting his grill last night.

Other TV, season premieres for Big Bang Theory AND The Voice. Also if you are a history buff, war buff or buff of both you should already be watching the PBS series on the Vietnam War. It is riveting.

“Now I’ve got the opportunity to come out here and be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame of Wrestling. Something I’ve loved all my life. Yeah, I got three bucks. Why did I stay? It was a job, I had to. I was feeding my mother, my grandmother and my aunt. I had to feed people. And myself. So you just stayed. So it wasn’t the money and it wasn’t because the people I had to feed. Because I love this. I love you and I love them. That’s what it’s about. That’s what the whole thing is about!”

— Bobby “The Brain” Heenan (2004 Hall of Fame Speech)

For the millions of one-liners (and I swear they have all been repeated in the past 24 hours) that’s probably the one that touches me the most. It’s unfortunate he dealt with problems that didn’t allow him to do what he loved to do, what he was put on earth today, over the last several years before his death.

Anyway RAW is live tonight, I expect they will have a wonderful tribute to Heenan and they have promoted Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax as a main portion of the card. Apparently Cena nor Brock are advertised. Pretty sure Cena was on the tour of China so that makes sense.

As for other things on TV. Monday Night Football is Giants vs. Lions and Dancing With the Stars premieres so my DVR will be full.

Hope you all had a good weekend, especially those that got to enjoy a holiday today.

Here is a preview of RAW tonight from Bleacher Report, the big cage match between Braun and Show will be headlining this one.

There’s another college football game on tonight as Tennessee takes on Georgia Tech from the Falcons’ newfangled stadium in Atlanta that the WWE will surely run Wrestlemania in soon and kayfabe an attendance record.

RAW will be live during holiday season too!

Of course I hope my peeps on the Gulf Coast and southeast Atlantic are keeping an eye on Irma.

Little early for the Monday night thread but I hope you don’t mind. Wishing the BoD’ers around the SE coast Texas the best as they deal with the mess from Harvey. Hope everyone else had a good weekend and those that purchased the fight enjoyed it. I’ll say the best part of the fight was having a lot of friends come over and enjoy plenty of food and drink. Always love gathering like that.

Anyway RAW Is live tonight and I don’t have a clue of what PPVs are on the horizon so maybe this will be a good show, maybe it won’t. Plenty of baseball tonight with the big Yankees-Indians tilt on ESPN. No preseason NFL tonight. If you want to laugh for two hours, Blazing Saddles comes on TCM later tonight. That movie still cracks me up no matter how many times I see it.

Hope you all had a great weekend despite the problems with the site and hopefully many of you enjoyed the solar eclipse today. It was about 80% where I lived and since it wasn’t so cloudy here (as is normal during summer midday before the rain comes in) it was a pretty impressive sight to see.

RAW is live with the fallout from Summerslam. The first half of the main card wasn’t great, the second half was better. Liked the RAW woman’s match, liked the RAW tag match, loved the main event. I would suggest everyone go see the Usos-New Day match from the pre-show. Easily the best match to ever be on a pre-show and one of the best tag matches I’ve seen in a very long time.

Otherwise we’ve got some little league baseball, some big league baseball, some preseason NFL and plenty of eclipse coverage on PBS and other places.

Sometimes you’re just happy the weekend is over so you can enjoy and entertain yourself debating the silliness of worked sports entertainment. This might be one of those times. Anyway this is the “go home” week for Summerslam and RAW tonight has all the big guns you can imagine in the same building with a Sasha vs. Nia match to determine Alexa Bliss’ opponent for the women’s title.

Beyond that there’s continued monitoring of Ric Flair. ESPN reported that Flair was out of surgery and resting comfortably.

Mets-Yankees on ESPN, no preseason football tonight I believe. Some smutty reality TV show is premiering as well. All kinds of options.

I hope you’ve all had an amazing Monday and are ready for some good ol’ fashioned sports entertainment. Tonight RAW is live and we’ve got Roman vs. Braun Part 139, a last-man standing match. And a couple of triple threats to determine a women’s challenger since Bayley is on the shelf with a shoulder injury. Storyline says Nia should win but REAL storyline says Sasha should win. With our luck it’ll be Dana Brooke.

Outside of wrestling there are a few baseball games on, no preseason NFL until Wednesday.

Outside of sports if there are any serious history buffs here PBS has the preview for their massive Vietnam War documentary next month which is likely to win every single documentary award on the circuit in 2018.
