With New Japan sending Jushin Lyger to work the NXT show and Shinsuke Nakamura, Kazuchika Okada, and Kushida to work the RoH Field of Honor show on SummerSlam weekend, there are move moves going on behind the scenes between RoH and NXT that do not involve New Japan that are likely to be evident in short order.



TNA and RoH Wednesday Night Viewership Numbers

RoH drew 80,000 viewers this week, down from the 128,000 they had last week. The replay drew 89,000, giving them 169,000 total. TNA drew 293,000 viewers, down from the 353,000 they had last week. The replay drew 72,000, giving them 365,000 total.

Ryback Injury Update

Ryback has been diagnosed with a staph infection and as a result, will not be able to wrestle at the Battleground PPV.



TNA Telling Some Talent the Company Will Survive?

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, some of the TNA wrestlers have been told that the overseas television money will help keep the company afloat while they shop around for a new U.S. television deal. Those were also told that the company will survive because they trimmed down a lot of the big contracts and got rid of a lot of the higher paid wrestlers and that the company business model is changing.

Dolph Ziggler Update

PWInsider has confirmed that Ziggler has in fact signed a new deal with the WWE. Also, the reason that Ziggler was written off of TV is that he will begin filming for the new WWE Studios film “6:42” this week in Vancouver. The filming is scheduled to last about four weeks long.



WWE RAW Ratings

RAW this past Monday night drew 3.54 million viewers. Here is the hourly breakdown:

8pm: 3.43 million viewers

9pm: 3.51 million viewers

10pm: 3.65 million viewers



WWE Announces Date For Second Quarter Conference Call

The call is scheduled for Thursday July 30th at 11am EST. The WWE will be releasing their Network subscriber number during this call as well.

Backstage Reaction to the Diva’s Segment

WWE officials were reported to have been “absolutely thrilled” with how the divas segment came off on RAW. The feeling was that this division has turned the corner. The initial plan was for this to happen was to do this closer to SummerSlam but with the U.S. Women’s Soccer team winning this week and the attention they have been receiving the decision was made to move the plans up.



Kane (Storyline) Injury Update

Last night, WWE.com reported that Kane had sustained a broken right ankle due to Brock Lesnar’s attack last night.

This was the WWE 24/7 version of the show, which omitted the Terry Funk vs. Chavo Guerrero match.

Also, this was known as the “Paul Boesch Retirement Show.” Boesch had promoted the WWF in Houston once the UWF went under in April of 1987 then retired shortly after that.  A lot of legends like Verne Gagne, Lou Thesz, and Stu Hart among others were in attendance as well.
