Hey Scott–
You used "SHOOTS THE HALF" in your most recent ECW review, and I immediately flashed back to that terrible period in the late 00s-early 10s where Michael Cole was bleating that phrase in a vain attempt to sound like he knows what the fuck he's talking about. He gave up using it eventually, but still…
It makes me ask: What are some of your favorite terrible Michael Cole-isms that have been largely forgotten by history? We all know the classics like "VINTAGE!" and his awful "pound and ground" period, but are there any cringe-worthy phrases lost to the sands of time that have stuck with you?
“Shoot the half!” is actually a longtime Vince-ism that he was trying to make happen through Cole.
Really, Michael Cole starts and ends with the lists of nicknames for people that he has to hammer in “organically” over and over.
