Impact, Indies, and Insanity: September 13, 2018

Impact Wrestling is on tonight at 8 as always.  Advertised matches are the Lucha Bros against Lee and Conley as well as Brian Cage against Kongo Kong.

The NFL Game of the Week of the Night is Ravens/Bengals, while the NCAA Early Special is… on right now, actually (Boston College/Wake Forest).

After the jump, your indie wrestling roundup:

If you’re looking for live wrestling for the weekend, let’s see what the big shows are:

  • AIW has Escape from Cleveland tomorrow in Cleveland.  Main event is the big gold being defended by Tracy Williams against Dominic Garrini, while Tim Donst faces Colt Cabana and there’s a four-way with KTB, Matthew Justice, Nick Gage, and Tom Lawlor.
  • CMLL’s weekly program is on iPPV with their 85th Anniversary (!!) event.  Top trios match is Caristico, LA Park, and Hijo del LA Park facing Diamante Azul, Penta El 0M, and King Fenix.  The main event, though, is an Apuesta with lots of hair on the line as Barbaro Cavernario and Rush take on Volador Jr and Matt Taven.
  • St. Louis Anarchy is hosting The Re-Up across the river in Alton, IL tomorrow night.  Though there’s no headline-grabbing match, those in action include the Besties in the World, ACH, Jake Parnell, Chip Day, the Hooligans, and Gary Jay.
  • It’s time for California to be the center of the universe as the 2018 BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES is upon us!  Twenty-four of the top talents square off over three days starting tomorrow night, with the winner needing to survive four matches to claim the crown.  Your first round is as follows (six matches on Friday, six on Saturday):
    • Adam Brooks vs Rey Horus (F)
    • Bandido vs T-Hawk (F)
    • Brody King vs PCO (F)
    • CIMA vs Jody Fleisch (F)
    • Darby Allin vs Jeff Cobb (S)
    • David Starr vs Joey Janela (F)
    • DJ Z vs Robbie Eagles (S)
    • Flamita vs Puma King (F)
    • Ilja Dragunov vs Shingo Takagi (S)
    • Jonah Rock vs Sammy Guevara (S)
    • Marko Stunt vs Trevor Lee (S)
    • Timothy Thatcher vs WALTER (S)
  • But wait, there’s more!  Non-tournament matches have been announced for BOLA Weekend, featuring Dragunov/Takagi vs Thatcher/WALTER on Friday, Bandido/Flamita/Horus vs CIMA/Xavier/Wentz on Saturday, and Wentz/Xavier defending the PWG Tag Team Titles against Penta/Fenix on Sunday.
  • Beyond is running a doubleheader on Sunday.  The matinee show features Faye Jackson facing Solo Darling, Chris Dickinson against Arik Cannon, and Joey Ryan facing Cheeseburger.  The evening show (called “Somebody’s Farewell, Probably…”) has Tracy Williams defending the PowerbombTV Independent Championship against Tom Lawlor, Brian Cage and Jordynne Grace squaring off, and Nick Gage most likely hurting MJF.

Bring the insanity!
