WWE being clever?

Hey Scott-
For all that we do ripping the wwe for inept writing and character development. What are examples can you remember the WWE actually being clever.
For me- even though I didn’t realize it at the time because I was a kid. Was the whole GoldDUST being a play on Dusty’s name and the gold and black being the color of the polka dots he used to wear. I know it’s not ground breaking. But it’s a nice little subtle nod.
Also- naming Ric Flair’s daughter Charlotte was a nice touch.
I guess they couldn’t name her Greensboro.
Keep up the lords work
I mean, as petty and vindictive as it was, naming Dibiase's bodyguard "Virgil" was pretty damn clever. Because on one hand, if you don't get the joke, it works fine as a gimmick name, and if you do understand the reference, it gives the character a whole other layer. Especially if you see Dibiase as the analog for Vince McMahon.
Boom! Just blew your mind!
Of course then a year later we also got "Akeem the African Dream" and it was like "OK, you hate Dusty, we get it already", but that's Vince for ya.
