Tonight is the eve before Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary XVI – I checked, “16” is not a typo! On the card tomorrow, LIVE from the Rebel Complex (Nightclub) in Toronto, Canada:
Impact World Championship: Austin Aries (C, 81 days reigning) Vs. Moose
Impact X Division Championship: Matt Sydal (C, 183 days reigning) Vs. Brian Cage
Impact World Tag Team Titles: LAX (C, 79 days reigning) with Konnan Vs. OGz with King – Street Fight Rules
Impact Knockouts Title: Su Yung (C, 80 days reigning) Vs. Madison Rayne
Pentagon Jr. Vs. Sami Callahan – Mask Vs. Hair
Eddie Edwards Vs. Tommy Dreamer – House of Hardcore Rules
Tessa Blanchard Vs. Allie
Johnny Impact/Mundo/Morrison/Nitro Vs. Rich Swann Vs. Fenix Vs. Bone Soldier Ishimori
- Slammiversary XVI looks to be a legit sellout even after opening up a new block of tickets, and only General Admission is available for the two nights of tapings following.
- A source familiar with C.M. Punk’s thinking told a guy who told Meltzer that “feelers” have been sent out for an appearance at the big NJPW/ROH show at MSG in 2019. You heard it here first!
- Plans for the 2nd Annual Mae Young Classic are well underway, but as is the danger with non-indentured independent contractors, the participants are in flux: now, Crystal (a Phillipines-based grappler) has been removed from promo materials and may well be out of the tourney.
- In possible good news: B. Brian Blair, president of the Cauliflower Alley, writes on Twitter that rumours of Brickhouse Brown’s death are greatly exaggerated, and promises an update on Facebook. Comeback of the year?
Will Moose win the title in the runup to Hogan putting over Lashley at Summerslam? Will Punk rock MSG in 2019? Any predictions for the G1 Finals?
As always, discuss!
