Hollywood Hogan in WWF

By Scott Keith on 30 June 2018

Hey Scott, would it have worked if Hogan turned heel in 1993 after the whole Yokozuna fiasco? For example attacking Luger at some point (Summerslam? Survivor Series?), turning into a Hollywood primadonna character (maybe forming an alliance with Bigelow as his enforcer/bodyguard type, maybe with Bomb & Crush as Demolition reloaded?)? What you say?

No, because the whole reason why the WCW turn worked so well is that WCW fans viewed him as an "outsider" who was legitimately invading their turf and pushing out their favorites. It’s a very specific dynamic that wouldn’t have been the same in the WWF, which was more a fanbase who were just tired of seeing Hogan and wanted someone new.
