Long Term Champion

By Scott Keith on 16 February 2018

Hey Scott. If you're going to book a long term champion – at least one year in length – do you go with a babyface or heel? It seems the popular answer is heel, but could you make a case with Hogan in the 80's? Or is he the exception to the rule?

Also, are there any babyface title runs that you think ended too soon?

Thank you!
I feel like Goldberg and Cena also did fine for themselves as long term champions. I'd definitely say Goldberg's reigns all ended too soon as well.
The HHH theory is that the money is in the chase, but there was a SHITLOAD of money in having Hogan best the scary heel of the week in your city twice a year. Especially given the nature of the house show business now, where they always want to send the fans home happy.
