Ill-advised turns that hurt business/ratings

By Scott Keith on 11 February 2018

Hey Scott,

What are some face/heel turns that affected business & ratings in a negative way? I’m sure Austin’s 2001 turn is a good example. Maybe even Hogan in late 90’s WCW when he went back to the red & yellow & after WM18 once the nostalgia wore off?

With the benefit of hindsight I’m sure there are some other good examples so let us know what you think, thanks!
Oh, this would be a good list for Sporting News sometime! Off the top of my head, Flair going heel at the end of 89 was a big mistake in retrospect, especially since they had to rush a Luger babyface turn when HE was red hot as a heel as well.
